Some may say that money is the root of all evil - and in ways they're correct, but in others the opposite couldn't be so true.

Lando Norris grew up in a wealthy family, he always had what he wanted and always got to do what he wanted - that's how he ended up on the FIA Formula One grid. Lando had never really needed to work his way up through the ranks of Formula One - instead signing his first contract with McLaren, one of the longest serving Formula One teams in the business. Everyone knows who McLaren are, and now everyone knows who Lando Norris is.

Some of the grid felt that Lando had a little too much attitude about him than he should for his ranking. They didn't let this go unnoticed either - though Lando wasn't unliked on the grid, he was definitely one of the ones the rest considered "entitled". If Lando was being truthful - his behaviour was for a reason, he knew he had been gifted the McLaren seat, and he knew there were more deserving drivers who should be in his position - yet, McLaren chose him, and so his snobbish and arrogant behaviour were purely a facade to cover his inner confidence crumbling.

Even though money had never been a problem for Lando, he was careful - opened savings, kept logs of his spending, and was careful to make sure that none of his friends really knew how much he had - their feelings took precedence over his. This was a common misconception that many of his fans, followers and fellow grid members had - but Lando understands why. He didn't want to carry on essentially pretending to be someone that he isn't, and he knew he needed to make the changes before it was too late to reverse the damage.

Recently, Lando's parents divorced, and he was struggling to come to terms with it - not really understanding why, almost feeling that it was his fault - you know with all his racing requirements. Being in Formula One had meant that his family were always apart, as his father would accompany him to all races - his mother and sisters were left behind. He blamed himself for their divorce - but deep down he knew it wasn't because of him, Flo his sister had tried to console him, but she knew it would never be enough.

Lando would tend to get in his own head - before races, during races, after races - basically after anything that he knew he made errors in, it had been this way for several years. There was no real way to "bring Lando out of it", and back into reality - a therapist may say panick attacks, but Lando doesn't want anyone thinking he is a weak link because he has panick attacks - most of the grid already thinks he is a snob, adding panick attacks to that isn't going to help.

It had been years since Lando's parents divorced and went their separate ways - Lando 24 now and still racing in Formula One, now though with one World Championship under his belt. Today was the day that he would meet his mother's new husband, and his new step siblings. Lando wasn't sure how to particularly feel about it all - he didn't feel a way about it at all even - as long as his mother is happy, he will support her. Lando knew little about his new step family, and wasn't exactly sure what to wear - they were going to a formal restaurant, so Lando assumed that a black dress shirt, and black jeans would do the job - he did his usual hair style and added a little bow tie in there for extra detail. Lando had to admit he looked fucking sexy. With just a few minutes to spare before his mother arrived to pick him up, he added some cologne and grabbed his phone, then headed to the front door to await his mother.

Him and his mother had a lovely conversation whilst on the way to the restaurant, she told him more about the new family members he is about to meet - her new husband Michael was a proud small business owner of a pet supply store, and his two children Felicity, 19 and Oscar 22, were amazing allround people - to be truthful, Lando thought they sounded great, he was almost excited to meet them - but was worried about his celebrity status, and certainly didn't want anyone to cause a scene - his mother reassured him that they were in a private booth where no members of the public could access it.

They headed into the restaurant, and through a small corridor that led them to a VIP suite - Lando was wowed, even though he had been to places like this before, this one just seemed incredible. They headed into the VIP suite, to be greeted by Michael, he was a tall, statuesque gentleman, who seemed infatuated by his mother - Lando smiled greeted the man back and gently smiled at his mother warmly, he approved so far. Lando was then introduced to Felicity, she was under five feet tall, beautiful and very intelligent - they chatted whilst they began to sit down at the table, Lando wasn't sure where this Oscar kid was, his mother had said he would be there. Lando was looking down at his menu when he heard, "Oh Oscar darling, how nice it is to see you!", he looked up and saw this Oscar stood there in a white suit shirt, a black tie, and his sun glasses tucked in his shirt pocket. Lando's jaw almost dropped, but he kept it shut - but fuck mentally he was gone. Oscar glided over to the open seat opposite Lando, Lando's eyes tracking him with every movement, Oscar sat down, leant on the table, head resting on his hands, and smirked at Lando - Lando's pupils certainly diluted by now. Oscar spoke, "Good Evening, and you are?" Lando didn't respond, his eyes full of fear, then he took a deep breath, "Lando, Lando Norris. You must be Oscar." his speech was shakey, and quick, desperate to not show his sense of arousal. Oscar was younger than him but his composure was so so much better, "I indeed am Oscar, I have heard things about you Lando, not to mention seen things about you Lando." Lando gasped, what did he mean he had seen things about him, Lando was sure he hadn't had any private pictures leaked or shared of him. He knew about the risqué photos he would post of himself on his private instagram, but that was for friends only - Oscar wasn't a friend, but a stranger - yet Lando couldn't help but feel some way about the young aussie. "What. What do you mean?" Oscar chuckled, "Your private instagram Lando, you definitely know how to get someones feathers ruffled." Lando giggled a little, starting to realise Oscar was only teasing him, he did wonder how the aussie had access to his private instagram, but thought that that would be another conversation for a different day. "Mm, and how would you know about that instagram Oscar?" Oscar hummed, and beckoned him closer, "One of your friends gave it to me, you are certainly stunning beneath all of that clothing." Lando blushed, "Oscar, that's so devious of you - and thank you." he said with a sweet smile - the rest of the evening went smoothly and rather quickly, Lando felt like he had known Oscar for years, their conversations happened so easily, and were so effortless - he found comfort in talking to Oscar. That's were he and Oscar ended up walking along the beach front of Bondi, it was a quiet night, the occasional seagull, and the occasional revving of road car engines, the moon shining just enough on the pair, that it looked as if the moon was made for them. Lando didn't want to say something and ruin the peace, the moment between the two, but his anxiety got the better of him, and he hadn't felt this much like himself for years. "Oscar - I, tonight has been great, I feel like I have known you for years, yet I haven't even known you twenty four hours - but I just wanted to than-", Lando was cut off by Oscar's lips on top of his own, devouring him in a passionate, deep but yet so sweet kiss, Lando bought his hands to the nape of Oscar's neck and smiled, "Lando, I want to take small steps with you, our parents won't be happy, but I have faith that they will understand, and accept us for our love. What do you say?" Lando smiled, not really caring in the moment what his mother and Michael would say, but Lando always knew his mother would love him no matter what. "Of course I want to take these baby steps with you Oscar."

And the rest is history, and Lando was right - His mother loved him no matter what, she knew her son would fall in love with Oscar - that's a mother's instinct.
