When Loreth opened her eyes, everyone was laying down, not just her. She blinked in confusion, but no longer felt the constraints of the goblins, allowing her to sit up.

"Take arms," came a familiar old voice, "fight. Fight!" It was Gandalf. He had come to their rescue. Loreth had never felt such a relief before.

She stood, and pulled up her pants quickly. The burn between her legs still evident. She ran to Thorin who was already eagerly looking to her. He wrapped his cloak around her to cover her exposed chest. They embraced. If only for a moment before they had to start running. They would talk once they were safely away.

They fought their way over platforms and rickety looking walkways whilst being chased by a fleet of goblins. Loreth had summoned her spear from the air and fought like her life depended on it. She used her rage and wielded it like a separate weapon, one that warranted death from the end of her spear.

Before she even knew it, they were exiting the goblin cave, as it was daylight, they wouldn't be coming out until the safety of night fall. They continued to run until they were a safe enough distance away.

Nori had actually managed to keep a hold on his pack and offered Loreth a shirt from his bag. She took it graciously. She turned around, and walked over behind a tree. Taking off Thorin's cloak and putting on the oversized shirt of Nori's.

She walked back over to Thorin, handing him his cloak, but her eyes were downcast to the ground.

He tilted up her chin, to look him in the eyes, "I am so very sorry, Loreth. I couldn't save you from what they were able to do."

She shook her head, "you're not the one who should be apologizing. I don't blame you, Thorin. Do you hear me? Not even the slightest. Right now I'm just....just..." she racked her brain for the right word. 'Numb' didn't feel adequate enough. But thankfully, Thorin was a patient dwarf. "Feeling like something was taken from me but I don't know what." He lip quivered," And at the same time I want to scrub my skin until it bleeds and then keep going...until I'm clean."

Thorin's eyes started to water but he hugged Loreth before any tears could fall. He hated the fact that she felt unclean. That she was uncomfortable in her own beautiful skin that she would rip it to the bone. And there was simply nothing he could do to make it better except let her know he was there for her. And he would always be. In the hug, he cupped the back of her head and petted the nape of her neck softly as she attempted to hide herself in the crook of his own neck.  The little sniffles she let escape, he swore he could hear his own heart breaking.

Hugs were a new concept to her, her first one having been back there in the goblin kingdom. She could honestly say that they were her new favorite thing. Hugging Thorin and being so close to him felt like home and comfort. Home. Is that what he was to her now? How could she even possibly know the feeling? She had no home except a pathetic excuse of a lake.

"Where's Bilbo?" Questioned Gandalf. "Where is our hobbit?"

At that the two pulled apart at began looking for Bilbo.

Dwalin cursed, "curse the hobbit! Now he's lost! I thought he was with Dori!"

Dori recounted, "Don't blame me!"

Gandalf asked Dori, "We'll where did you last see him?"

Nori responded now, "I think I saw him slip away when they first cornered us."

"What happened exactly? Tell me!" The wizard demanded.

"I'll tell you what happened," Thorin spoke up with his arm still around Loreth, "Master Baggins saw his chance and he took it! He's thought of nothing but his soft bed and warm hearth since the moment he stepped out of his door. We will not see our hobbit again. He is long gone." A few expressions of disappointment and sadness came over a few of the dwarves. Bilbo really didn't think their home was worth saving. A moment of silence went by of what to do next.
