The eagles swirled around a rock formation and slowly dropped off each member of the company with care. The moment Loreth was safely on the rock, she ran over to Thorin's lifeless body. The dwarves moved out of her way quickly.

"Thorin?" She called to him, but he did not stir. He couldn't be dead. This wasn't supposed to happen. Everyone here needed him so desperately. He was their guiding light on this journey.

She placed her fingers to his neck and closed her eyes. The dwarves watched on with held breath.

Then she felt it. The faintest of heartbeats, but it was there nonetheless, "he's alive." She whispered. A few hushed words were passed between the company.

"I think I can save him. He's alive, but only just. Does anyone have a water skin?" She looked around the familiar faces.

Kili quickly shuffled around his coat and pulled out a water skin. Loreth snatched it from his hands. She had never actually tried this on someone else but it was worth a shot.

The mermaid opened the tunic he was wearing to reveal the skin and hair of his chest. Thorin's body was a bloody mess of with holes and puncture wounds from the warg's teeth. She poured the contents of the water skin onto his chest and placed her hands to him. She closed her eyes and let the magic flow from her veins. The water started to coagulate around her palm before it trickled in an unnatural, collected manner to his wounds. She watched as Thorin regained color in his face and few sickening cracks could be heard from deep inside his torso. The white warg had done worse damage on him than she had thought. Obviously some ribs had been broken and more than likely, his lungs had been punctured.

Thorin woke up with a gasp, eyes flying open and breathing heavily. Huge sighs of relief came from all those that watched.

The dwarf king blinked a few times, getting a better look at who had healed him, "Loreth?"

"It's alright," she smiled, the rising sun, kissing the gold of her hair and pretty skin, "I'm here."

He sat up to be eye level with her, "You saved my life."

Loreth rested a hand over his which he held tightly to, "I had help," she looked towards Kili, "I'll always save you. I'd do it again and again, Thorin Oakenshield, until my dying breath. This company and Erebor need you...I need you."

Thorin looked at her with so much admiration that Loreth felt a lump form in her throat.

Dwalin chuckled, "Aye, perhaps we'll make a queen of her yet, Thorin."

Thorin glanced at Dwalin in a light hearted manner.

The king stood, offering Loreth a hand, but he kept it around her waist once she was up.
