After the master of the lake chose Thorin's side of the argument, there was a great party held. Men all over the town were drinking, dancing, and being merry. With the promise of great wealth in their minds, who wouldn't be? The mermaid found it very hard to be merry with everyone else when she was just strung up and about to be gutted by these very lake men.

Regardless, Loreth hoped that Thorin would make good on his promise though, she felt something was going array within him. This was the start of something Loreth couldn't put her hands on, she just hoped that whatever was happening with Thorin, that he comes out of it at some point.

Loreth felt an arm drape over the back of her chair, "Are you alright, Loreth?" Thorin whispered in her ear. The company had been welcomed in the master's long house and they joined in on the merriment. Drinking, dancing, and singing songs of Erebor. Loreth was unusually quiet this evening, and took no interest in the fun and games. She'd gotten lost in the depths of her water filled chalice.

She inhaled deeply, "Yes, just not feeling well." She rubbed a hand over her small bump. "I should like some fresh air I think." She eyed the balcony doors. The room had gotten very warm very fast. The cool of a snowy night would feel heavenly right now.

"Me too, I'll join you if you don't mind?" Thorin asked with a smirk.

"You don't have to ask," She smiled back. He helped her from her seat and walked hand-in-hand to the balcony doors.

Just as suspected, the cold was a relief to her. So much so that she let out an audible hum. The balcony was suited for the tallness of men so she could easily rest her arms on the banister at chest level, resting her head on her arms. She gazed out across the town an lake.

"After all these years, it still feels like it's a dream to be so close," Thorin spoke softly. She looked at him and saw that his attention was elsewhere, somewhere off in the distance. She followed his gaze to see the Lonely Mountain standing ominously in the fog.

"Then it is a good dream, "The mermaid smiled softly at the dwarf. It was nice to see him get off his high horse and turn into a little kid again. So full of hope.

He turned back to her, gently wrapping his arm arm around her waist to be closer to her, " There are so many places in the kingdom that I cannot wait to show you. The courtyard, the hall of the kings, the tombs of my forebears. I hope you will come to love it as much as I do."

Loreth lightly chuckled, " I will love our home no matter what. As long as your here, I'm already home."

Thorin looked at his future queen with all the love in the world before he sighed and looked down at her stomach, "I worry for you on this journey. We may be close but we have a ways to go yet. I was thinking that it may be safer for you here."

Loreth looked at him in hurt, "N-no. I can't. Thorin there is something that awaits this town. The words Bard spoke were true. The dragon will attack Lake-Town. I can't explain the way I feel fate but I know it deep down in my bones. I cannot stay here, it is not safe." She pleaded with Thorin.

He seemed to consider her words before giving a slow nod, "How can I keep you safe from a dragon, my love?"

"Don't worry about that. I have a sense where the safe spots are. You needn't worry about us." Loreth laid a hand over her stomach.

Thorin put his hand over hers as well, slowly rubbing the area with his thumb. Loreth was relishing in the attention. Precious moments like this will be well wanted after the dragon is awake and the chaos that ensues.
