Thorin Oakenshield x OC!Mermaid because there need...
The carnage of the battle of five armies had finally been cleaned up, and the great door to Erebor restored. Not only that but the city of Dale was already bustling with life—still being rebuilt in many sections, but it was progress. Along with this, a considerable chunk had been put in the great treasure hoard of the Mountain. It was against many wishes of the dwarves that Thorin demand it be given away, but no wealth that big should be kept solely by one being. The gold no longer plagued his mind or snared his heart as it did before, which was a tremendous relief to all that had seen him under the dragon sickness. Perhaps the greatest surprise came from Thorin when he admitted that his heart had been so blinded by greed and ambition that he turned down the help of an elf king when it was graciously offered in a time of need. And for that Thorin felt it necessary to keep a promise of long ago.
The white gems of Lasgalen we once commissioned by the king Thranduil himself. However, once the gems were fashioned, the dwarves, in their greed, claimed the necklace, adorned with the twinkling gems, for themselves. And this began a very long hatred between the dwarves of Erebor and the elves of Mirkwood. However, Thorin wanted to make this right and offered the gems and more to king Thranduil. This was all the elf had desired from the beginning and took it graciously, seeing it as turning over a new leaf in their new found alliance.
At last with everything prepared and for the most part-repaired, it was finally time for a wedding and coronation of the new queen.
Loreth was tucked away in a room full of bearded ladies, scrambling around, muttering to themselves trying to get the finishing touches in place.
Dís zipped up the back of Loreth's dress in one go making Loreth gasp.
"Everything alright?" Dís fretted.
"Yes, it's just...I hadn't imagined it would be so tight. I tried it on for alterations a week ago." Loreth answered looking at herself in the mirror.
Dís was Thorin's sister. She shared his wavy jet black hair and fair features. Although, she sported a fine black beard that laid over her bosom. Meeting her at first was an anxious feat for Loreth. But Dís loved her just as Thorin had said before. She'd picked her up and spun her around, making Loreth nauseous to be quite frank. But it was out of love. They immediately had a close friendship one akin to sisters even. It was more than Loreth could have hoped for.
Dís chuckled, "that was before the babies grew a little bit more, dear. Alright let's have a look at ya."
