Loreth had never really known what having a place to call home was like, until Thorin came into her life. She had decided that wherever he was, she would be, for he was her home and place of comfort. To see the dwarves step through that hidden door, as if the place were made of glass. So fragile and sacred, made her heart swell. This mountain would become her home and the home of her children; it had already taken root in her own heart. She hoped to gain a connection to it just as these dwarves did.

The dwarves of Erebor had been away from this place for sixty years. To be back and have the hope of restoring what once was was a lifted weight off each of the dwarves' shoulders. Loreth could see that much with her own eyes.

Thorin touched the stone walls with love, "I know these walls...these halls...this stone. You remember it Balin? Chambers filled with golden light?"

Balin spoke with tears brimming his eyes, "aye. I remember."

Nori began reading something behind Loreth making her look up as he read, "Herein lies the seventh kingdom of Durin's folk. May the heart of the mountain unite all dwarves in defense of this home."

"What's that carving beneath it?" Loreth wonder softly.

Balin answered her, "the throne of the king".

Bilbo spoke now, "and what's that above it? Looks like some sort of light."

Balin came again, very serous now, "the arkenstone."

Bilbo gave a little nod, still looking like he had questions, "and...w-what's that?". Loreth was thinking the same thing. It had to be important from how Balin said that.

"That," Thorin began, " master burglar. Is why you are here."

Everyone could audibly hear the gulp in poor Bilbo's throat. Loreth didn't wish this dangerous task on her worst enemy. It sounded like it was dangerous business to even be within a hundred leagues of a dragon, let alone in its treasure hoard.

Thorin instructed to Balin, "show Bilbo to the the treasure hoard, that was the last place I saw the arkenstone. If it's anywhere in this mountain, it's there." Thorin turned to Bilbo and placed a hand on his shoulder, "I cannot go down there with you, my friend. I fear that seeing the great wealth of Erebor would drive me to madness like my grandfather. You must do this on your own, quiet as a mouse, Bilbo. Do you understand?"

Bilbo balled his fists nervously, "it's what I've been brought on this quest to do. I will certainly do my best to find you this stone."

Thorin smiled warmly, "I don't doubt that. Come Balin, lead him to the hoard, we can't lose anymore time." With that last instruction, Balin led Bilbo down the stone tunnel and Thorin guided the rest of the company out of the passageway.

The dwarves began to share their hopes and dreams if they are able to reclaim their homeland, assuming the dragon was dead and the gold defenseless.

Loreth took the opportunity to pull Thorin aside, "can I talk to you for a moment?"

Thorin's brows furrowed but he followed her away from the others, "of course. What is it, amrâlimê?"

Loreth eyes flicked from the open passage to Thorin, eyes full of worry, "I have this horrible feeling, Thorin. I think we've sent Bilbo to his death."

Thorin scoffed, "Smaug has not been seen for sixty years. He's either gone or dead down there. The hobbit is just fine."

The woman couldn't believe what she was hearing. He really thought that down there was the safest place to be.
