24 - Sorry

"I was meeting up with your father's other family."

I feel like my whole world just crashed. Everything I know was a lie. My father has another family?

Tears started to form on my eyes as I bit my lip, fighting the urge not to cry.

"Father.. has.." I stopped, trying to catch my breath. ".. has another family?" I asked, my voice breaking making my mom glance at me.

"I'm sorry for not telling you the truth.." She sighed. I clenched my fists.

I couldn't think right. A lot of questions roamed on my mind. I'm confused. I'm always confused.

"Everyone lies."

Yeah, maybe everyone lies.

"I was begging them to stop." She spoke, her voice cracking.

I turned to her. She was crying, which made me cry.

Tears, cries filled my room. We were crying together. This was new.

"Do you know why our businesses were always a fail?" She asked. I shook my head, as I bit my lip.

"They. You're father's other family, they would always try to fail it. No matter what. They hated the fact that your father choose us over them." She said, wiping her tears away.

I stood up and walked towards.

"Eomma." I spoke, grabbing her hand.

"I'm so sorry." I apologized, crying as I wiped her tears away. She gave me a reassuring smile.

"It's not your fault. You didn't know." She said, holding my hand and wiping my tears too.

Before I knew it, we were already hugging me. My mom loved me after all. She cared.

I was so happy. I was overwhelmed. These were tears of joy. This is the best day of my life, hugging her and crying with her.

As soon as I walked inside inside their dorm, I saw Jin. The scene yesterday suddenly replayed in my mind, making me clench my fists.

"Ree!" He smiled, waving at me as I made my way towards the couch. "Hey." I answered plainly, waving back before sitting down.

He was wearing a plain brown sweater and some jeans that looked good on him.

I looked around and saw no signs of the other boys so I looked at Jin confusedly. "Where are they..?" I asked.

"They- Oh, they're with Jungkook." He grinned, crossing his arms.

I grinned at him. Jungkook, his name made me bite my lip.

"Then.. why'd you ask me to come here?" I asked, as I watch him grab his phone.

"We're going shopping." He smirked, looking up from his phone as his fingers typed on the screen.

"Shopping?" I looked at him weirdly as he shoved his phone inside his pocket.

"With you?" I added. "Yes." He nodded, smiling.

"But.. why..?" I trailed but suddenly he pulled me outside and lead me towards the passenger's seat of their van.

He grinned at me. "We're going to make you amazing." He said before closing the door.

I chuckled. Him? Make me beautiful? What is this?

He sat beside me and wore his seatbelt. "So, are you ready for 'Operation Make Ree Beautiful'?" He asked before placing the key inside the ignition.
