Texas-New Mexico Sibling AU + Spain as Father

"Abortion shouldn't be legal! It's murder!" "All of your Mujeres* can come here for an abortion." "shut it Mexico!" "It's New Mexico..." "At least New Mexico doesn't force his opinions on to others!" California yelled he was once again fighting with Texas, and this time New Mexico was dragged into said argument. "Why can't you learn to accept sometimes abortion is something that is a necessary thing! Great to see that nothing has changed since the civil war... Ya know you're just as close-minded as Spain!" California yelled, just as the words left his mouth he wished he had thought them through.

California didn't like to compare someone to another, much less someone to where they came from, that's when California also realised what he was doing, he was making Texas cower, he tried to hide it but he was nervous, California was standing both hands slammed on the table and his chair had been pushed with such force it had fallen over, he was yelling and not breaking eye contact.

In this scenario, California was the threat, and Texas was the victim. California's face dropped as Texas' jaw clenched, Texas broke eye contact and looked down. California had backed up and took his hands off the table "Texas, I'm sorry I didn't think! I-" "Save it."

"Texas I-I didn't mean to! I-I should've thought about what I was saying," California stammered, he didn't know much about Texas's past but it wasn't the thing you bring up in an argument at all, even Florida sucked in a breath when California had said it, and Florida had even initially been enjoying watching the two fight! "You said what you meant, don't lie it makes it worse." Texas had tried to keep his voice steady, and you could barely make out his quivering voice under his facade.

"Meeting adjourned! California I need you to stay here." Gov spoke up after the shock wore off, after all, that was a low blow and Gov knew more than the others about Texas's past, not the full story to the extent it was but just enough to know to never bring it up without Austin there to snap Texas out of the mindset be would enter.

Texas teleported into the bathroom, which one he had no clue, nothing looked like the statehouse everything morphed into when he was a child, young pathetic and naive, what made it worse was he was just compared to his brother New Mexico again, he knew California often didn't think before he spoke and sometimes got ahead of himself and said something he didn't mean.

But Texas couldn't shake the feeling this was meant to be said, just not with him present.

What's worse was not only did he not have his gun on him, the bathroom started morphing into the cellar of his childhood home, the place he would be thrown into for hours sometimes days, it happened either after a beating, if he misbehaved, or if his "father" simply felt like it. And it all started when he was 7.

He hallucinated his father in front of him holding a belt, while some people made jokes about the infamous belt punishment, for Texas those punishments varied from being choked, to being hung by his wrists until all the blood left his hands.

Then Spain started walking around him, telling him how disobedient he had been, how worthless he was, how much better New Mexico was than him, and Texas didn't blame New Mexico it wasn't his fault he was abusive, he cared for his brother though he never showed it.

Then in the blink of an eye, his father was standing over him, Texas sitting in the corner of the bathroom, or to Texas, the tiny cellar closet. "You're crying aren't you? You're such a pathetic little bitch, can't even take some criticism without baling, you deserved everything that happe-"
