Y/N pov
Wanda and I have worked on being a better us for the better part of 3 years. In her senior year of college I asked her to move in with me which she happily did. She cried when she realised that I had kept her drawers empty for her in hope that we will find our way back to each other. And that we did and became stronger. I have learned to stop blaming myself for what happened but I also promised myself that I would protect her no matter what.
Today is the day of her graduation and she is currently getting ready. I couldn't be more proud of her for coming so far. I managed to get off work for the whole weekend so I could surprise her to a little weekend away after the celebrations with everyone. I looked up from my spot to see her in a dark red dress that stops just above the knees.
"You look absolutely stunning princess." I told her tenderly as I walked over to her with her bag in my hand.
"Thank you. You look very handsome too." She smiled as she kissed me softly before wiping off any lipstick that made it onto my lips. I held out my arm for her to take as we walked side by side to my car. I opened the passenger side door open for her before getting in the drivers side. "My parents are meeting us there along with Nat and her parents." Wanda informed me as I drove. I could tell that she was extremely nervous, especially with her valedictorian speech.
"You are going to be amazing princess. I will be beside your parents cheering you on through to the next chapter of your life." I reassured her as I took her hand in mine kissing her knuckles. She smiled at me brightly before I found a space nearby the campus before exiting and opening her door before she could. She muttered a small thank you before she went to sign in and get her cap and gown with Nat. I timidly walked over to her parents who smiled brightly at me.
"It's so good to see you here Y/N." Mrs Maximoff beamed as she pulled me in for a hug.
"I wouldn't miss such a special day of hers." I smiled as she held me at arms length looking over my suit.
"I can only imagine how you both will look on your wedding day." She smiled at me as Mr Maximoff laughed beside her.
"Come on now darling. They are only young and have their whole lives ahead of them." He told her as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
"I do intend to marry her one day." I told them both shyly.
"I knew it. I can't wait for you to officially be apart of our familiy." She told me with a tender smile.
"She already is apart of our family." He told her as he squeezed my shoulder making me smile.
We all averted our attention towards our seats as we waited for this years graduates to come out. I smiled brightly when I spotted my girl walking in with a shy smile. That's one thing I know about her is that she hates all attention on her.
When the ceremony started, I couldn't help but keep looking at her as she listened to the speaker intently. In my daze I didn't even realize that they had already called her up for her speech so I put every ounce of my attention on her.
"Wow. When I transferred her almost 4 years ago back to my home town I was scared to start a new chapter of my life. I had left the love of my life where I studied prior to here but what they have shown me is that if you give yourself time and space to heal, everything will return as it was. When we all leave her today whether it is to go home to where we grew up or on to bigger and better adventures, whether it is alone or with someone you love. Just do it. Follow your heart and you will never know what you will find. You might go through a lot of heartbreak but love is hard. Sometimes that Hard Love will lead to something more unconditional. So go on your adventures and live your dreams and I hope that you will all find what you have been looking for your whole lives without really knowing it." She finished her speech as everyone started to clap. I stood up from my seat as her eyes found mine making her smile wider than before.
When the ceremony had finished, Wanda came running into my arms and kissed me hard before I let her go.
"I am so proud of you princess." I told her softly as I cupped her cheeks.
"Thank you." She whispered as she kissed me again before her father cleared his throat making the two of us pull apart.
"That was a beautiful speech baby girl." Mrs Maximoff spoke as she hugged her daughter before she was embraced by her dad.
"Come on you three, it's picture time." I told them as I held out my camera. I watched happily as Wanda stood between her parents as they all smiled brightly. Proud of Wanda's achievements.
"Well I think a picture for the two love birds is needed too." Mr Maximoff spoke as he took the camera from me and pushed me towards the most beautiful woman in the world. I wrapped my arm around her waist and kissed her head before we both looked towards the camera for the picture.
"I am so proud of you princess. You have no idea how much." I told her with a bright smile.
"Thank you for today Y/N." She whispered before she kissed me softly as we heard the click of the camera and we both looked over at her parents who wore soft happy expressions on their faces.
"We just had to. It was a cute moment." Her mum shrugged making us all laugh as we all went ahead to leave campus to start celebrating my princess achievement.
