Chapter 41

Wanda's pov

37 Weeks pregnant

I have been going with Y/N to every physio session and to see the improvements is amazing. She is now walking with crutches and can manage to walk up the stairs on her own. I am so proud of her and how far she has come along. I smiled as she hobbled towards me with a proud smile on her face. 

"I can't believe I am going to be standing when you give birth." She smiled as I kissed her softly. 

"I am so proud of you Y/N." I told her. She smiled proudly at me. I was amazed by my wife. After she had finished for the day, she collapsed on the sofa when we got home. I went to make some dinner for us both. 

 "Thank you for being patient with me." She spoke up as I was watching over the food on the stove. "I know it hasn't been easy on you and I know I won't be able to go back to active duty, I will be walking with a stick for the rest of my life but I couldn't have done any of it without you. You, Wanda have been my person for years. Even when we were apart you were my person. The one I will always fight for." She spoke softly as she approached me. "You deserve so much more than me but you chose to love me, and I am the luckiest person alive because you have made my life worth living." She placed her crutches against the counter. "I am so in love with you Wanda Maximoff."

 "I love you so freaking much Y/N." I caressed her cheek before she leaned in and kissed me softly. The kiss was full of love, the love that we shared together. 

She remained in the kitchen with me as I cook. Then I started to get some pains in my stomach. When a really hard one came she hobbled over to me.

 "What is it?" She asked me.

 "Just braxton hicks." I told her. I saw the concern on her face. "It will pass." I told her hoping to calm her down. That was when I felt it again, even stronger than before. She was by my side as fast as she could, then I felt it. My waters had broke. "I think it's time." I told her as I screamed as another contraction came. She grabbed her phone and hobbled around without her crutches. When she returned with my bag in hand.

 "I'm going to have to drive." She told me as she guided me through the house. 

 "But you aren't cleared yet." I told her. 

 "It's gonna be fine. The ambulance wouldn't get here for hours and it will take time for someone to come here." She told me as she opened the passenger side for me. She groaned herself as she struggled around the car. I was worried that she was going to put too much pressure on herself.

"What about your crutches?" I asked her as she got in the drivers side. 

"It'll be fine Wanda. My main concern is you and our boys." She told me making me smile before another contraction came. She passed me her phone to tell Pietro to tell everyone as she drove there. I was truly amazed by this woman. She had me in awe with how she has just literally came around so quickly. 

"But your back?" I told her.

"Let's worry about that later when the boys are here." She held my hand as her eyes never left the road. She soon pulled up outside the hospital and hobbled inside. She soon came out with a nurse and a wheel chair. Y/N helped me out of the car and into the chair before she grabbed the bag and parked the car. We were soon led to a room and I was guided to the bed. 

"The doctor will be in momentarily to check how far along you are." The nurse told us as she took my blood pressure. Y/N remained stood by my side. 

"You need to sit down Y/N." I told her as she shook her head.

"My wife is in labour. I am not going to sit down and miss the moment that we have been waiting for." She smiled at me as she caressed my cheek.

"But." I tried to protest.

"I don't care about my back Wanda. I already know it will never be 100% again and I have made peace with that." She leaned and kissed me softly. "I am standing so just deal with it ok." I just kissed her again before the doctor came in. 

"Looks like you are 9cm dilated. Almost there." They smiled at the two of us. Y/N held my hand and I tightened my grip on it when a contraction came.

"I'm so sorry." I cried thinking I had pissed myself.

"Your cervix has now gone so it's time." They said as a nurse came in. "Push with each contraction Wanda."

"You can do it princess." Y/N whispered to me. "You can do it."

I pushed when my body told me to. I pushed as hard as I could until I couldn't. 

"Just relax and breathe." The doctor told me. I took a deep breaths to calm myself before the next one came. "Are you to push again." I shook my head before I looked at my wife. 

"You can do it Wanda." She told me as she kissed my head. I pushed again as hard as I could. Y/N whispering sweet nothings in my ear, encouraging me. Praising me. 

"We have the head. Keep going Wanda." The doctor said as I continued to push. We soon heard crying and I couldn't help but smile. "Here's baby number one."

"Billy." I whispered as Y/N smiled at me. The nurse took him to clean him off before I was ready to push again. I pushed as hard as I could, wanting to hold my babies. When we heard another set of cries, I sighed in relief. "Tommy." I smiled as I watched the nurse bring Billy over to Y/N.

"Ok Wanda, we just need to get the placenta out." The doctor said as they applied pressure to the top of my stomach. "Just a small push Wanda." They said as I complied. It didn't take long before I had Tommy and Billy in my hands. "Congratulations." The doctor smiled at us both. "I will come back in a little while to check on the three of you." I noticed Y/N was in pain.

"Y/N?" I spoke softly as to not disturb the two sleeping babies. 

"I'm ok." She said as she held on to the bed. Her face contorted in pain. 

"You've put too much pressure on yourself." I told her as she shook her head.

"I didn't want to sit as the twins were being born." She said with a smile. Before either of us could say anything her legs buckled underneath her and she fell on the floor. 

"Y/N?!" I called out as she groaned. 

"My legs are numb." She said from her position on the floor. "I'm just gonna rest here for a moment." She said as I just smiled at her. She was amazing today and I couldn't have asked for a better wife.
