Chapter 21

Wanda's pov

I was leaving the hospital today and Maria was here to take me home. Nat and their new baby girl, Olivia was at home waiting. I was still unhappy that Y/N has disappeared from my life right now. Even Bucky doesn't know where she is. She hasn't checked in with work, but I know that Pietro knows something but he won't tell me a single thing. 

"Are you ready Wan?" Maria asked as she pushed the wheel chair through the door.

"I'm ready." I took a deep breath before I moved from the bed and into the chair as Maria placed my bags on my lap before she pushed me towards the exit. "How's Nat and Olivia?" I asked her, trying to make conversation as much as the mention of a child hurts me. 

"They are both doing just fine. Nat wants to ask if you and Y/N would like to be godparents." She said as we reached her car. She helped me get in the passenger side before she returned the wheel chair. 

"Has anyone seen anything of Y/N?" I asked her as she got in the car. 

"No. I've tried looking everywhere I can for her but I'm not getting anywhere." She told me as she we exited the parking lot. I looked out of the window as I played with the ring on my finger. I really needed her here with me more than anything right now.

When we pulled up outside the house, I had to fight back tears knowing that Y/N isn't waiting for me inside. Hell she should have been the one to pick me up and bring me home. But she isn't Maria helped me inside and we were caught in the smell of a roast being made. Nat came running out of the kitchen in an apron which made me giggle as she pulled me in for a hug, being careful of my wounds. 

"I'm so happy you're home Wands." She smiled at me as she pulled away and led me to the living room where a sleeping Olivia resides. I couldn't help the tears that feel because of what we could have had. Y/N and I could have had that family that we had dreamed about. "Do you want to hold her?" She asked me as I just shook my no. I don't think I had it in me just yet holding something that could've been. 

"What's for dinner?" I asked her dryly as my throat felt like it was going to close up at any moment. 

"We are having roast chicken." She beamed as she led me to the kitchen. I watched as she plated up the dinner before we all went into the dining room and sat down. Both Nat and Maria were talking about what I had missed while I was in hospital.

"I can't go back there." I whispered as my thoughts drifted to that day in school when I was shot. Both Nat and Maria looked at me tenderly because of my revelation waiting for me to continue. "I can't go back to work there." I said with tears falling down my cheeks. Nat and Maria both hugged me as they let me cry. Nat helped me up to bed and into some fresh pyjamas. I started to fall asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. 

Nat's pov

It broke my heart to see Wanda like that and Y/N was nowhere to be seen. I know Carol knows something because she hasn't even really spoke to Pietro either and they're supposed to be in a relationship.

"You need to find her and bring her home Nat." Maria stated as I came back downstairs. I looked at her before I made my way to the kitchen to clean up and prepare Olivia's bottle. "Wanda needs her and you are the one person who knows Y/N best." 

"I am not the person who knows her best Maria." I told her as I dried my hands and turned to face her. Disregarding the task that I was just doing. "We spent 8 years apart. She wasn't in my life for 8 years because of the life her so called father dragged her into after she lost her mum. When we finally reacquainted she was a completely different person. The one who will know her best is Carol or he is in prison." 

"But Wanda needs her wife Nat. She needs her now more than ever." She told me as I nodded knowing that she is right. I decided to pull my phone out and hovered over Carol's contact name. "Don't worry, I will stay here with Liv while you go. You may be the only person to get through to her." I just nodded and dialled Carol's number and waited for her to answer. 

"Hey Nat." She greeted me. 

"Do you know where Y/N is?" I asked her getting straight to the point. "And don't lie to me. I know that you know something." 

"Yeah I know where she is." She sighed. I smiled at Maria to let her know that I was getting somewhere. "Meet me at Y/N's old apartment." She told me before she hung up. I put the phone in my pocket and started to get my things together. 

"Are you sure you're going to be ok?" I asked her as she just smiled at me. 

"Of course I will be. Just go and bring her back." She told me before she gave me a soft kiss. I got in our car and drove as fast as I could to my destination. I needed to bring her back home and I would not be going back without her. Once I pulled up and jumped out locking the car, I ran up to her floor before knocking on her door frantically. I was shocked at the sight before me as she opened the door. 

"What do you want Nat?" She asked me emotionless. 

"I came to bring you home. Your wife needs you." I told her as I shut the door behind me. 

"No she doesn't Natasha. She is better of without me." She said as I could see the pain that she was trying to hide. "She would have been better if she didn't meet me. Hell I should have died a few times all those years ago." She spoke as the silent tears started to fall from her eyes. "I have brought her nothing but pain. She deserves someone who won't put her life in danger just by knowing me." 

"None of what happened is your fault." She shook her head as she looked at me. 

"EVERYTHING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO HER IS MY FAULT. SHE GOT KIDNAPPED IN FRESHMAN YEAR AT COLLEGE BECAUSE OF ME. SHE WAS THE TARGET OF THE SHOOTER BECAUSE OF ME." She shouted painfully. "She could have died and it would be my fault. Her blood would be on my hands." 

"Come on Y/N. Just come home with me and let her decide. Please. She needs you right now more than anything." I told her softly as she just looked at me thinking everything through. I walked up to her and hugged her close as she just broke down. I have never seen her this bad before. Not even after her and Wanda broke up in college. I just held her as she cried knowing that she has probably held all of this in.
