Chapter 8

Y/N pov

It has been a few weeks since I had proposed to Wanda and they have been amazing. We have both decided that we also want to buy a house together out of the city so we can build our family when we are ready. But right now we are both at work. Wanda has finally been promoted and is a fully fledged teacher now which is amazing. I am so proud of my fiance. Yes my fiance. I can't believe it either.

I made my way into the briefing room and sat beside Bucky as we waited for Steve and Peggy to arrive.

"So?" He asked me as he turned to face me.

"What?" I asked him confused.

"What did Wanda say?" He asked me excitedly.

"She said yes." I beamed which he gave me a bone crushing hug.

"I knew she would. Even with that rough patch, you were always going to find your back to each other. You're like kindred spirits." He beamed excitedly.

"And you my friend are like an old soul." I chuckled as Steve walked in the room. Once he stood at the front, everyones attention went to him.

"As you all remember, we have a new gang, but we have been following a few of the Hessian foot soldiers, learning all of their routines and were they will be going and when." He started. "They have been responsible for a lot of disappearences across New York. We don't have much  on the Count but we hope that these guys can lead us to finding him." He told us all. The pictures that have been taken up on the screen. He gave us each our tasks before we all went on our way.

I was sat with Bucky in the car as we were trailing one of Strucker's men. We were watching him to see if he would lead us to him.

"So how have you been?" He asked me as I felt his eyes on me while my own remained on the task at hand.

"Good." I spoke emotionless.

"Talk to me Y/N/N." He spoke softly.

"What do you want me to say Buck? That I don't know how to live without her. Why couldn't I make her stay with me when she was willing to." I told him angrily. "Why does it hurt so fucking much that I did what was best for her and I am still the one who is hurting. She is already healing. She is getting through it and she will most probably move on and find someone who won't put her in danger."

"You didn't put her...." He started before I shot him an angry glare.

"Don't you dare finish that sentence Buck." I growled at him before getting out of the car and following the suspect.

"Y/N, you shouldn't be doing this if you aren't in the right mind set." He said as he followed me into the building.

"I have never been in the right mind set since the day I lost my mum." I told him as I had my gun at the ready as we walked through the building.

Bucky and I were sat in our position waiting for the guy that we needed to arrest. It honestly felt kind of like deja vu but without a gloomy depressed me.

"So are you ready for when you get your new partner?" I asked him with a smirk as he groaned.

"No I am not ready at all. I already had the best one who I worked really well with and now the Dynamic Duo is being split up thanks to Steven." He groaned making me chuckle.

"You do realise that we aren't exactly leaving each other." I asked him teasingly.

"I know that but with someone new, I am going to have to put a sensor on my own behavior." He groaned making me laugh before we both saw the target.

Wanda's pov

I was at home cooking since we had both invited Nat and Maria over for dinner. So while Y/N was still at work, it gave me full control of the kitchen. We both usually tend to argue over the kitchen since we both love to cook.

I was finally getting myself in a good place. It has been a year since I moved back in with my parents. I was walking to meet up with Nat to grab a coffee when I saw her. Y/N was here in New York but when I looked  back in the direction she was gone. My mind flew to her wondering what she was doing now. I knew that it couldn't be her. She wasn't even in New York.

I walked inside the coffee shop and spotted Nat straight away. I smiled as I approached her and sat across from her

"Hey." She said as her expression faltered as she saw me. "What happened?" She asked as we recieved our coffees. "I already ordered for us." She informed me.

"I just saw Y/N." I said barely above a whisper.

"What do you mean? I thought she was still in New Haven?" She asked me.,

"That's what I thought. Maybe it's just my own mind playing tricks on me because I still miss her." I concluded as Nat just nodded in agreement.

As I was setting the table, Y/N walked in and placed her keys in the bowl by the door before she walked over to me and gave me a soft kiss.

"Hi princess." She smiled at me. "How was your day?" She asked as she helped me set the table.

"It was amazing. The kids are so sweet in my class." I spoke as I told her about what I had taught in school today. She listened intently as I spoke passionately about my work.

"That is amazing. Have I ever told you how proud of you I am?" She spoke as she wrapped her arms around my waist.

"You tell me every chance you get." I whispered against her lips as my hands cupped her cheeks. She closed the gap and kissed me passionately.

"We didn't come here for a live show, we came for food not to be put off it." Nat spoke up making the two of us laugh before we turned to face the married couple.

"I seriously do regret giving you a key." Y/N smirked at her as Nat just shook her head.

"No you don't. You're just greatful that you don't have to answer the door to me or Maria anymore." She smirked as she sat at the table next to Maria.

"We could be doing anything and you could just walk in." Y/N fired back at her.

"It's nothing that I haven't seen before." She shrugged as I brought the food and drinks over with Y/N.

"Seriously Nat." Y/N groaned as she sat beside me as Maria and I just laughed at them both. Since they started to talk again in senior year, it's like they were never apart.

"Well, we have something that we want to tell you both." Nat spoke as Y/N cleared the table.

"You're not moving away are you?" Y/N asked her.

"No we are not moving Y/N." Nat smirked.

"Damn it." Y/N groaned, teasing the couple who sat before us.

"We are pregnant." Nat spoke excitedly. I jumped up and hugged the pair as Y/N was frozen in her spot.

"It worked?" She asked Nat as she hugged her.

"It worked." Nat confirmed as Y/N had some tears running down her face.

"I am so fucking happy for you both. You are going to be amazing mums, and I know for sure that they are going to have even better Aunts." She said as she kissed Nat's head. After we had celebrated a bit, Nat and Maria left because Nat was getting tired. So Y/N and I sat cuddled on the sofa watching some sitcoms.

"Do you think we would have children?" I asked Y/N.

"Yeah. I want kids with you." She smiled down at me. "But I would love to marry you first princess and buy a house in the suburbs for us to raise them away from the busy streets of New York."

"I would love that with you." I said before I kissed her tenderly before settling back into her to watch our sitcoms together.
