Chapter 9

Y/N pov

I woke up this morning to an empty bed which is odd because it is a Saturday and Wanda doesn't have work. I done my morning routine and got myself ready for work. Since the rise in gang activity, we barely have time for a day off now. I made my way to the kitchen to see Wanda sat at the table looking over bridal magazines with a cup of coffee in her hand.

"Good morning princess." I greeted her as I made myself a coffee.

"Oh no, I haven't even started on breakfast yet." Wanda whined as she quickly jumped up from her seat.

"It's ok Wanda, I can get some breakfast on the way to work." I reassured her trying to tame the guilty look in her eyes.

"But you need your food." She pouted as I just smiled softly at her

"I will be fine princess. Besides you have got your hands full with planning the wedding of your dreams." I smiled at her so she knew I wasn't angry at her.

"Are you sure?" She asked me as I cupped her face.

"I am absolutely sure." I smiled as I gave her a soft kiss before finishing getting myself ready. "I will see you tonight." I told her making her smile goofily at me.

"Yes you will baby. I love you." She told me as I was at the door.

"I love you more princess." I smiled before closing the door and making my way to work. Today was the day that I start training my new partner. I am kind of nervous since I haven't trained anyone ever.

As I walked into the meeting room Steve had already assigned us all our new partners. Everyone was getting to know their partners before Rogers started to talk.

"So you all know who your new partners are. Please be aware that they have been hand picked by me from the academy. I want you to teach them how we do things in this department and what we do. Please make sure that you watch each others six while you're out on patrol." He told us before assigning us all our own areas.

"I'm Y/N, your Training Officer." I told him as we walked towards the car. "You will do as I say until I see fit that you can follow my orders without needing me to tell you."

"Yes ma'am." He spoke cockily.

"I am not a ma'am Walker, just call me Y/L/N." I told him sternly as I drove to our assigned post. We are keeping our eye out for any gang activity that is related to Hydra. We have been getting so close to locating Strucker but every member we managed to take down is just a pawn and don't know anything about him or even what he looks like.

"So what are we doing here?" He asked me as I parked the car.

"We are scoping the area for any Hydra gang member to take down the station for questioning to find Strucker." I told him as I kept my eyes on our surroundings. "When we do manage to find someone, do as I say not as I do. Watch my six and we need them alive." I told him which he nodded.

Wanda's pov

I was meeting Nat today to ask her to be my maid of honour. She is my best friend besides Y/N but I can't ask her for obvious reasons. She was sat at her usual table with our drinks already ordered.

"Hey." We greeted each other with a hug before we both sat down.

"So, I have something that I need to ask you?" I ask her nervously.

"What is it?" She asked me softly.

"You know how you're my best friend?" I stated as she nodded for me to continue. "I was wondering if you wanted to be my maid of honour?"

"I would be honoured Wanda." Nat beamed with tears in her eyes.

"That's good because I need help with planning the wedding. Y/N and I have a budget and she has given me full reign on the planning." I told her which she smirked.

I was sat studying at my desk as Nat walked in my room and lay down on my bed with a groan.

"What is wrong with you?" I asked her with a raised brow as I turned to face her.

"I am completely nervous Wanda." She spoke with worry in her eyes.

"Is this about the proposal?" I asked her with a smile.

"Yes! What if I mess it up? What if she says no?" She rambles nervously.

"She won't say no, and you could ask her in McDonalds and she would still say yes because she is so in love with you Nat." I reassured her the best I can as I think back to Y/N who I miss so damn much.

"How can you be sure?" She asked as she finally looked at me.

"Because I see the way she looks at you Nat. She looks at you like you're her whole world. The same way that Y/N looked at me." I told her as she gave me a concerned look.

"How are you holding up?" She asked me as she sat up. I swallowed the lump in my throat before I spoke.

"It is still hard but I am feeling better in myself. I still miss her so much and I am still so in love with her and I have tried to move on but she is always there." I told her honestly. "My heart will always belong to her." I told her with a sad smile.

"Well maybe you both will find each other again soon." She smiled softly as she hugged me.

"I doubt it. She has her work there and probably won't move back to New York. She has too many bad memories here." I told her honestly.

"But she also has so many good memories Wan. This is where she met you and she rekindled her friendships that she had when she was a kid before her mum died." She told me. I know that I shouldn't have hope that we will hopefully get back together but I will always have it. Y/N is my one.

Y/N pov

We ended up going back empty handed, we never got anyone related to Strucker. I was unsure about Walker, he seemed cocky and reckless but it was his first day and I should really give the benefit of the doubt. When I met up with Bucky in the break room, he smiled at me as he gave me a coffee which I smiled thankfully.

"So how was your newbie?" He asked me with a smirk.

"I honestly don't know. He seems very cocky and reckless but it is only his first day." I told him honestly.

"What makes you think that?" He asked me.

"Well he gives me that vibe, like he doesn't need my training. Like he can just go out and do this job easy." I told him as he just listened.

"Just observe every single action of his and write it down to go in his report that he will have in a few months. His review will happen after then and they will decide if he will stay on the job." He told me with a soft smile. I just nodded before Peggy walked in like she was on a mission.

"Briefing room now. We may have a lead on Strucker." She told us both urgently as will put our cups in the sink and followed her to the briefing room.
