Chapter 4

We have been back from our little getaway for a few days now. Wanda has been spending some time with her family while I have gone back to work. I am currently in a meeting with Rogers, Bucky, Peggy and Wilson. Which Rogers seems to be worried.

"Ok so we seem to have someone coming into New York after hearing about the downfall of the Black Order. They have left tags of a Rheinhessen style tag around and even branded some of their victims with it." He spoke showing us the photo. "They have been trying to take over the Widows and Hydra since The Boss is now in prison."

"So we have a new gang to take down." Wilson spoke with a smirk.

"Do we have anything on their leader?" I asked him as he only shook his head.

"We don't have too much on him other than he is know as The Count. The gang is known as The Hessians. They are of a German origin and are extremely dangerous. They will kill people just for looking at them the wrong way." Rogers told us as we all looked at the screen. 

"So when do we try to take them down?" Bucky asked me.

"We still have to try and find as much as we can on them. Find some foot soldiers who won't be missed and bring them to the pen for questioning." Peggy spoke as we all looked at the map, mapping out areas of where they have been. 

"But we have to be extremely careful while taking them down. They have more people in their ranks than both the Widows and Hydra put together. We will be extending our team to add a few extra members as we will need the help and Peggy will need the help in tech." Rogers spoke sternly. "So we will be training them all, so we will have a new partner and I expect you to teach them my way of running things." We all nodded before trying to stifle a laugh as Wilson groaned at getting a new partner since he has always worked with Steve. As we all walked out of the room Bucky nudged my shoulder.

"You best hadn't replace me with the newbie." He warned me playfully.

"It depends if they're better at telling jokes than you." I teased as he just hit my arm as we both laughed. 

"It doesn't seem that long ago since you just came out of the academy and became my rookie." He spoke as we both had a coffee. 

"I know. It's like a whole other life away now." I said as I reminisced on the cases that we had both worked together on before we took down The Boss. Aka my biological father. The real person who is responsible for my miserable life growing up. At least I can say that I came out better off. I have a beautiful woman who I am looking forward to spending the rest of my life with and start a family together. "I have got to go. I'm meeting Nat to get Wanda's ring off her." I told Bucky as I looked at my watch as he just smiled softly at me.

"Well I am happy that you both decided to make up. You were such a grump when she came back to New York but you were one hell of a cop." He told me as I just smiled before bidding farewell and hurrying to meet Nat at the coffee shop.

"Hey, you finally showed up." She teased as I walked inside and gave her a quick hug.

"Hey. I told you I would be here." I told her honestly as I sat down in front of her. "So do you have it?" I asked her as we placed our orders. 

"Yeah, here." She said as she gave me a velvet box. I opened it and smiled at the ring being the way I had envisioned it. I got a platinum band with a red ruby since red is her favourite colour. She would decorate our whole apartment red if she could. "I still can't believe you're going to do it after all of these years." She smiled at me as she sipped on her coffee. 

"Anyway, how is Maria?" I asked her as I watched her smile.

"She is doing amazing. She is almost finished up in quantico with her training and will soon be a full Agent." She smiled proudly at the thought of her wife. 

"I'm made up for her. So any kids on the horizon yet?" I asked her with a smirk which only made her smile.

"Not yet but we are thinking about artificial insemination." She spoke with a bright smile. I couldn't help but be happy for them both. We spent the rest of the day catching up before we went our separate ways. Once I had made my way home, I walked in to Wanda dancing around the kitchen as she cooked. 

"Hey princess." I greeted her as I walked up beside her after taking off my coat and hanging it over a chair.

"Hey baby." She smiled at me as she gave me a soft kiss. "How was the meeting?" She asked me as she went back to her task.

"It was ok, we're getting new partners on the task force because we need more boots on the streets with us to take down these gangs." I told her as I leaned on the counter watching her intently.

"Is there anything I should  worry about?" She asked as she turned to face me.

"No not yet. We only have knowledge of a new gang on the rise and we want to try to take it down before they take over the majority of New York and the smaller gangs." I said as she just looked at me worriedly. "That's why we need new people in the task force. The more of us the stronger we are."

"As long as you come home to me safe and sound." She spoke softly as she wrapped her arms around my neck.

"You are the one person who gives me a reason to fight for coming home princess. I will always come back to you." I whispered as I kissed her softly before we spent the rest of the evening watching sitcoms and cuddling. The best way to end the night with my love in my arms

A cheeky little chapter. Ive worked out that this book is going to be 60 chapters long and is the final book. Let me know what you guys think so far
