Chapter 37

No One's pov

Wanda was still with Nat and Olivia, enjoying their shopping spree. Making sure they had plenty for the twins. Both of them non the wiser to what has happened. Until Wanda's phone rang.

"Bucky hey." She smiled as she answered the phone as she was looking at the stuffed animals. Holding a blue tiger in her hand.

"You need to get to the hospital now." He told her. Her heart dropped when she heard those words.

"What happened?" She asked him shakily.

"Y/N's currently in surgery right now." He told her. She almost dropped the phone as Nat caught it just in time and finished the call. Wanda was pale. All of the worst case scenarios running through her mind. She wasn't ready to lose her soulmate. No one ever truly is. 

"Come on Wands. Let's go." Nat urged her as they both rushed to the car. Wanda's grip on the stuffed animal tightened as the drive seemed to last a lifetime. Nat made sure to leave the money for it with the cashier and an apology for them rushing out of the store. 

"I can't lose her Nat." She whispered in the car. "I can't raise these babies on my own."

"You won't be on your own Wanda. Y/N has always pulled through everything. She has always fought through hell and back for you. Literally." Nat reminded her. "Just have a little faith that she will pull through again." Wanda just nodded and watched the buildings go by as the drove. 

When they arrived at the hospital, Wanda ran straight inside to see Maria and Bucky both sat in the waiting room as the rest of the guys were stood around waiting. Bucky's eyes soon found Wanda who looked like her whole world had been taken from her. 

"Where is she?" She asked him as he and Maria met her halfway.

"She's in surgery right now." He told her as she ran her hand through her hair. "She will make it Wanda. She has to." He pulled her in to him in a tight embrace. As they were all waiting for news on Y/N, she was currently undergoing extensive surgery. 

For hours they waited for any news. Yelena came to pick up Olivia and to take her home with Kate as Nat wanted to stay with Wanda. Their parents were all there. Aunt May and Peter too. After a while a surgeon covered in blood came through the doors to them. 

"Family of Y/N Y/L/N?" They asked as Wanda stood up and rushed to them with Nat and Maria hot on her tail.

"I'm her wife." She spoke shakily as she hugged the blue tiger close to her chest.

"They have had a lot of internal bleeding which we have managed to control. There is a swelling on her lower spinal cord and she will be temporarily paralysed but with physiotherapy she will be able to regain some functions. She has a fractured arm and some fractured ribs. She is currently in recovery but there is no saying how she will be until she wakes up." They told her as Wanda gasped. This was the worst Y/N had ever taken.

"So will she wake up soon?" Wanda asked them.

"Maybe in the next few days but there's no definite time on it." They told her. 

"So she may not wake up?" Wanda asked them, not really wanting to hear the answer. 

"I can only say so much but it's best not to get hopes up just in case things take a turn for the worst." They told her. They told her the room Y/N is in and that she can go and see her. When she reached the door with her mum behind her. She stalled before she opened the door to see Y/N attached to all of these different machines.

"Oh my god." Wanda gasped as she saw her wife in the worst state she as ever had to see her. She hated the idea of this happening to her. It was one of her worst fears as she watched Y/N leave for work everyday. 

"Come on sweetie." Her mum spoke softly as she urged Wanda to step into the room. "I'll be here with you." She told her as she guided her to the chair beside Y/N. Wanda instantly grasped her handed before she noticed that her wedding ring is gone.

"Her ring is missing." She yelled in shock. "Mama, her ring isn't here." She searched through Y/N's things to find it before Maria came in with Nat behind her. 

"It's here Wanda." Maria handed her a chain with Y/N's ring on it. "I remember her telling me that she puts on a chain whenever she's working." She helped Wanda put the chain on so Wanda would keep it safe for her wife until she woke up. Wanda had silent tears falling down her cheeks as she watched her wife's chest rise and fall with each breath. Every beep from the heart monitor signalling that Y/N was indeed still alive lulled Wanda into a peaceful slumber. She was moved from her place in the chair and onto a cot when the nurses brought one in. Nat and Maria left to go home and see Olivia while Mrs Maximoff stayed with her daughter. Watching over the two as they slept.

Another update dudes. Almost finished with this book. The Hard Love series has been an awesome ride and was special to me since it is my first ever Wanda fic. Let me know what you guys think
