Chapter 61

I looked at Zoro in confusion as my eyes followed his. I saw a pretty girl with dark hair examining a sword and I felt jealousy rise in my chest. Who was this girl that Zoro was staring at? We heard the girl screaming at the seller over the sword and Zoro groaned, "Yeah, it's her. I can't believe it. What is that woman doing out here?" he demanded. I looked away from the girl and back to Zoro with a questioning look, "Zoro, who is she?" I asked and he sighed, "No one you should worry about." he answered as she kept yelling at the seller.

She turned towards us and Zoro quickly hid behind a giant vase as I raised a brow. No longer did I feel jealous, or rather, confused by his actions. I suddenly smirked, "Scared of a little girl, Pirate Hunter?" I teased. Zoro shot me a deadly look, "Shut up, Evie." he snapped and I laughed as Shae finally joined us, "Hey, Zoro. What are you doing?" Shae asked as the others joined us. I looked at Shae, "Where were you?" I asked.

She looked at me, "I thought I saw Luffy so I went to check, but I was wrong." she answered. Usopp looked at Zoro, "Why are you hiding over here?" Usopp asked as Zoro peered around the vase. A deep voice reached my ears and I glanced towards the girl to see an older gentleman approach her wearing a thick jacket, "Idiot pirates. They decided to act like big shots so I was forced to teach them a lesson. Have the Alabasta Royal Army take care of these sum." he instructed her. She stood at attention, "Yes sir!" she said.

I looked over and saw everyone hiding with Zoro and I giggled, "All of you?" I asked amused, before looking at the Marine again, "So far I haven't heard anything about the Straw Hats landing here, but don't let your guard down. They will show up." he said, sure of himself. I leaned against the front of the vase, shielding the others but not blocking their view, so they could keep watching.

"That's Captain Smoker. He's the Marine who caused us a lot of trouble in Loguetown, before we met you." Shae explained to me. Usopp looked at Shae, "You think he and his Marines followed us all the way here from Loguetown?" Usopp asked, "Seems to be the case." Zoro said, "With him and that mystery man, thinks could start to get pretty ugly here. Come on Luffy, show up." he growled in a low voice.

Eventually, we returned to our hiding spot where Sanji and Vivi were waiting for us, "You could've been seen, Evie!" Vivi exclaimed when I returned. I smiled, "I don't like waiting around, Vivi. I had to do something." I explained and she groaned as I sat down with a huff, "The Marines are here along with some mystery man, looking for me and Luffy." Shae said as she leaned against the wall, "Let's just fine Luffy as fast as possible and get out of this town as soon as we can." Nami said. Zoro suddenly shoved Nami, "Hide!" he exclaimed as he hid beside me, his arm pinning me to the wall and watching for something.
