Evie POV
I could feel myself being carried and I groaned, opening my eyes. I blinked a couple times before my eyes focused. Above me was a headful of red hair and I gasped, "Jaxon?" I asked in surprise. Jaxon looked down at me, "I take it, that Marine told you my real name." he guessed and I nodded, "Why are you helping me?" I asked. Jaxon looked away, "Listen Princess, I love my dad. He's all I have, after all, but he's gone too far. If my mother was alive, she would not have let him do this. Truth be told, I was helping him at first, but then I met Robin, and she helped me realize how wrong this is. I don't want my father to win, Princess." he finished.
"You really feel this way, Jaxon?" I asked and he nodded, "Robin and I both do. You cannot fail, now." he said as he sat me down, "Your friends are inside looking for my father's cannon." he explained. I looked at him, "Do you know where it's hidden?" I asked and he shook his head, "I don't. My father didn't tell me. Good luck, Princess." he said and walked away. I looked back at him, "Wait! Jaxon!" I called and he looked at me, "Why are you leaving?" I asked and he looked away, "To find Robin. She's with my father." he answered before leaving me all alone.
I turned back towards the city, before sprinting inside, Everyone, please be okay. I silently pleaded. I ran throught the city, searching for the crew, when I came across some Marines who all looked at me, "Marines. Great." I groaned. One Marine looked at me, "Princess Evelyn. You should head towards the clocktower." he said. I raised a brow, "Well, okay. Thank you." I said and took off towards the clocktower.
As I neared the tower, I heard voices, "We must've passed it a bunch of times before I realized it. The cannon is up there. I'm absolutely sure of it now." I heard Vivi explaining as I got close, "Vivi!" I called. Vivi turned towards me and gasped as she covered her mouth with tears in her eyes, "Evie! Evie, you're alive!" she cried and ran to me, hugging me tightly. I smiled and hugged my twin back just as tightly, "Vivi, thank goodness you're okay." I said. Nami, Shae, Usopp, and Chopper all attacked me happily, "We were all so worried!" Shae cried.
I finally pulled away smiling with wet cheeks, "I'm sorry to worry you all." I said and Nami hit my head, "Ow! Nami!" I whined and she smiled, "The one you should be apologizing to, is Zoro." she said and I blinked, "Zoro?" I asked and she nodded, "He was absolutely devastated, Evie. So much so, that he keeps your sword with him." she explained and I blushed as I thought about Zoro.
"Now, we just need Pell. I wonder what happened." Vivi said worriedly, looking at the sky. I looked up as well, "Pell? I don't see him up there anywhere." I said, "But I don't think there's any way that we can get to the top of the tower in less than a minute without any help." Shae chimed in. Vivi looked around again, "Pell, where are you? Hurry. We need you." she pleaded.
"For now, we're going to have to get moving without him." Chopper said. Usopp looked at all of us, "We're gonna have to climb all these stairs. You guys ready?" he asked. I suddenly heard a shout, "Hey! Nami! Hey, Shae! Hey, Vivi! Hey-" Sanji broke off as he looked at me and grinned, "Evie! You're alive!" he shouted and I smiled, "Hey Sanji!" I called back with a wave.
