Chapter 94

Third POV

Vivi stood on the ground with Luffy and Pell as the others began arriving in the square. First was Chopper and Usopp, who were surprised to see their captain alive. Right behind them, was Sanji and Eyelash who both seemed fine. Nami came up behind Usopp and hit him on his head, with Zoro struggling to breathe behind her. Shae was beside Zoro, patting his back as he panted. Nami began yelling at Usopp about the weapon he made for her, when Zoro looked at Vivi, "Vivi, where's Evie?" he asked, worry on his face.

Vivi looked down, "Evie...fought off Mr. 2 to protect me when we were trying to head off the rebellion. I...I don't even know if she's alive!" Vivi cried, "Well did you go back and look for her?" he demanded and Vivi shook her head. Zoro's eyes widened as he remembered the last time he saw her, right before they split up;

They had walked away from the others after discussing the plan to stop the rebellion. Evie had been worried, "It's true I'm worried about everyone, but to be honest, I'm worried about you, Zoro. What if you get seriously hurt?" Evie admitted softly. Zoro smiled and tipped her chin up to face him, "I'll be fine, Evie. If anyone should be worried, it's me. You and Vivi are their main targets; so I'm worried about something happening to you. You've gotten stronger, but that doesn't keep me from worrying." he admitted.

Evie smiled at him, "Don't worry, Zoro. I'll do my best to avoid a fight, I promise." she said and Zoro smiled, "And I promise not to die on you." he said softly and dipped his head, kissing Evie deeply. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her body against his, not wanting to let go. It was in this moment, Zoro wanted to tell her how he felt, but decided against it. He finally pulled away, "I'll see you at the Palace, My Queen." he said softly snd she nodded, "You will." she confirmed. With that, Zoro and the others left to lead the Number Agents away.

Sanji walked over, "Zoro, I went back to find her, after I defeated Mr. 2. However, she wasn't there." he said and Zoro looked at him as Sanji handed Zoro Evie's sword, "This is the only thing I found." he said regretfully. Zoro looked down at Evie's sword, feeling his heart break, "Evie." he said softly as he took the sword and gripped it in his hand. Vivi felt tears prick her eyes as she watched Zoro attach the sheath to his hip with his other swords. Sanji observed Zoro, "Zoro..." he began but Zoro shook his head as he looked at Sanji, "Don't, cook. Just leave me alone." he said and turned away. 

Shae walked to Zoro's side, "Zoro, I know you are hurting right now, but we cannot lose focus. Evie wouldn't want that." she said and he nodded, "I know. I'm fine, Shae. Let's just find this cannon and save Alabasta....for Evie." he said. The crew all nodded, "For Evie." they coursed, before splitting up to find the cannon.

Evie, I was a fool to keep my feelings to myself. I should've told you how I felt while I had the chance. Zoro thought to himself as he took off running with Shae and Usopp following. Shae watched her close friend, sadly, "Zoro, Evie is fine, I'm sure of it." Usopp said but Shae shook her head, "Leave it be, Usopp." she said. Usopp looked at Zoro again before dropping the conversation completely.
