Chapter 101

A few days passed, with Luffy still sleeping. Zoro finally woke up, but I never found a good chance to confront him alone. On this day, Kell and I were in a meeting with my father, both of us dressed in proper attire, consisting of nice shirts and me in a skirt. I was tuning everything out and thinking about Zoro when I felt a hand on my shoulder, "Evie, are you okay?" Kell asked and I nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine." I answered, "Well it's over, now. Lets go." he said and I stood up, following him out. Once we were alone, he spoke, "I saw your swordsman head out a few hours ago." he informed me. I looked at him, "Which way?" I asked, "To the east." he answered and I raced from the palace, heading east.

I headed East for a while, before finally seeing Zoro in the distance, sitting on the ground and holding up a huge boulder with his arms and shoulders. I approached him slowly, "Zoro." I said. Zoro looked at me, "Evie. Did you need something?" he asked. I shook my head, "I just wanted to talk, but it seems you're busy." I said. Zoro closed his eyes, "Go ahead, Evie. Talk." he said. I nodded and stopped beside him, "It's about what you said, a few days ago." I said and he opened his eyes, "Evie, I said my peace--" he began but I interrupted him.

"Yeah, well I didn't, Zoro. I know why you said those things. You don't want me to join you, I get it, but it isn't your decision. It's mine and Luffy's, if he will have me. You can't tell me what I want or don't want, I know how I feel! You may not want me to join, but I want to and that's all that matters! I shouldn't have to do what my dad wants me to do, if I don't want to do it, myself!" I argued. Zoro looked at me, "I'm entitled to my own wants as well, Evie, and I don't want you to join the crew." he stated flatly.

"Zoro, why do you insist on pushing me away?" I demanded, "After everything....why?" I sniffed and he looked away, "I have my own reasons, Evie." he answered. I fought back my tears before I turned away. I wiped my eyes, "Why? Why do I feel this way?" I whimpered and shook my head before speaking up, "Zoro, I want you to know something. Despite how you say you feel, I just want you to know...I love you." I finally admitted before I left him sitting there, speechless. 

I didn't return to the rest of the crew, instead I took some time alone. I found myself thinking about everything, from the fun times with the crew, to the sweet moments with Zoro. He acted like he cared about me, but ever since I admitted to him I wanted to join, he changed. He began pushing me away. I sat down and wiped my eyes, "Singing always helps." I murmured to myself, and decided to sing;

I even think I saw a flash of light

As I finished singing, a voice caught my attention, "Evie." Kell said softly. I wiped my nose and sniffed, before finally looking at him, "Yeah, Kell?" I asked, "I know you're upset, Evie, but I figured I'd tell you, the captain is awake." he said and I smiled, "Luffy? Thanks, Kell." I said, standing and racing back to the Palace.
