The Mall Rats

Jade and Steve woke up and immediately got ready for work. Once they finished getting ready they made their way into Steve's car and drove off.

Today was a busier day at the Mall, so the three teens were all slinging ice cream in the front of the store.

After the shop started to cool down Jade and Steve took their break in the back room, with Robin at the counter.

"Have a nice day." Robin said handing the customer their ice cream with no enthusiasm left in her body.

"Hi," A curly headed boy said approaching Robin.

"Hi." Robin said bluntly.

"I'm Dustin."

"I'm Robin."

"Pleasure to meet you. Uh, are- are they here?"Dustin asked.

"Is who here?" Robin asked not following.

Steve rushed out the break room with Jade following behind him.

"Henderson." Steve shouted seeing Dustin making Dustin laugh.

"Henderson! He's back! He's back!" Steve shouted rushing to Dustin.

"I'm back!" Dustin shouted. Jade stood next to Robin smiling at the two finally interacting again.

"You got the job!" Dustin said gesturing to the shop.

"I got the job!" Steve said as he imitated trumpet sounds. The two then started to do a series of handshakes together as they laughed.

"How many children are you friends with?" Robin asked making Steve's face drop annoyed.

"At this point, we run a daycare." Jade said making Robin laugh.

"Jade!" Dustin said. Jade made her way to the front and walked over to Dustin wrapping him in a hug.

"Hey, kiddo! We missed you."Jade said to Dustin.

"I missed you guys too!"

"Let's catch up, we can get you some ice cream." Jade said shimming his shoulder with hers.

Jade and Steve sat down with Dustin as he ate his ice cream and caught them up on everything going on in his life.

"No, no. No way. Hotter than Phoebe Cates? No." Steve said not being able to believe Dustin about him having a girlfriend.

"I'm so happy for you Dustin. She sounds amazing." Jade said.

"Hotter than Phoebe Cates? No girl is hotter than Phoebe Cates." Steve said still not believing Dustin.

Jade looked at Steve and smacked him on his chest at his comment. "I mean..., you're hotter than Phoebe Cates...Phoebe Cates wishes she looked like you...because you're perfect." Steve said.

Jade scoffed. "Yeah, I know." She said sarcastically making Dustin laugh.

"Not only is she hotter than Phoebe Cates. But she's brilliant, too. And she doesn't even care that my real pearls are still coming in. She says kissing is better without teeth." Dustin said making Steve cringe.

"Whoa...that's great, Dustin. Babe you might have to lose a few teeth so we can try it out." Jade said nudging Steve.

"Not a fucken chance." Steve whispered to Jade making her laugh.

"Wow. That's great. Proud of you, man. That's ro- That's kinda romantic." Steve said to Dustin.

"Yeah, totally." Jade said nodding her head. Dustin nodded his head and smiled as he continued to enjoy his ice cream.
