The Monster

"Nancy," The twins shouted out still looking for Nancy. Jade started to grow worried. Did Nancy leave them? Or was something wrong?

"Where are you," Jonathan shouted out.

Jade and Jonathan started to hear faint screams that sounded like Nancy. "Jade, Jonathan... I'm right here."

"Nancy," Jade shouted flashing her light around the woods.

"We're right here! Nancy," Jonathan screamed out.

"Just follow our voice," Jade shouted out hoping Nancy could hear her.

"Follow our voice, Nancy, we're right here!" The twins shouted they then heard Nancy close by and turned and ran towards her voice.

The twins ran to a tree. Jade flashed her light at the bottom of the trunk. At the bottom of the tree there was a cover of some sort of goop. It looked slimy and was glowing red from the other side.

Jade and Jonathan bent down to get a closer look at it, it was almost a wall of some soft squishy material. And around it were almost web like slime. Jonathan and Jade for closer.

Jonathan held his hand out pushing Jade behind him. "Nancy?" He said putting his light closer to the portal.

"Nancy follow our voice," Jade shouted into the portal inside the tree.

"Nancy," Jonathan asked again getting closer. A hand then shot out of the goop breaking the squishy barrier it had. Jonathan and Jade both gasped and jumped back at the scene.

"Oh fuck," Jade shouted out terrified.

"Jonathan, Jade! Please," Nancy shouted holding her hand out with her body still submerged on the other side.

Jade and Jonathan grabbed her arm and started to pull her out. The twins had to use all their strength to break through the barrier of goop. The twins had finally pulled her out and Nancy was now laying on top of the twins. Jade wrapped her arm around Nancy.

"It's okay...we got you," Jade said to Nancy.

"We got you," Jonathan said again reassuringly pulling the three of them into a tight hug. Nancy started to cry and shoved her head in between the twins hug.

The twins were facing the tree and saw that when Nancy broke through the portal, the tree closed back up returning back into a regular looking tree.

The three of them stayed like that for a while. Nancy was clearly shaken up but so were Jonathan and Jade, they were terrified. What if something worse had happened to Nancy? What if they never had found her.

The twins were now in Nancys room trying to comfort each other. Nancy had told the twins all about what she had saw. It was late so Nancy's parents were fast asleep.

"Is it okay, if I use your restroom," Jade said asking Nancy.

"Of course. You know where it is."

"Thank you."

Jade walked to the restroom and splashed some cold water on her face. She grabbed the bag of pills she had in her pocket and threw two in her mouth. She leaned her head down into the sink washing them down with water.

Meanwhile Jonathan and Nancy were sitting on Nancys bed together in her room. Jonathan had put a towel over Nancy to warm her up. Jonathan was worried for Nancy, he placed his hand on her back trying to calm her nerves.

Jade walked back into the room shutting the door behind her. Immediately when she walked in Jonathan removed his hand from Nancys back and the two had readjusted themselves to be farther apart from each other.
