"Hey, dingus's, your children are here." Robin shouted out from behind the counter. Jade and Steve were in the back room on a break. Steve sighed and opened the window that closed off the front and break room.

"Again? Seriously?" Steve said annoyed looking at the kids. The kids stayed quiet and Mike rung the bell again.

Jade perked up from behind Steve, flashing him a dirty look. "Don't be a dick." She scolded, turning back to the kids and flashing everyone a smile."Hey guys, hey Will." Jade said to the kids who gave her a wave.

Jade and Steve then took the kids to the back of the break room, where a door met the back of the hall of the mall leading into all the other stores.

"Come on, come on. I swear, if anybody hears about this-" Steve said rushing the kids out the door.

"We're dead!" All the kids said mocking Steve.

Jade laughed at there response. "Have fun!" Jade called out to the kids who were heading to the movie theater. "They sound just like you." Jade said smiling over at Steve.

Steve scoffed. "Little dipshits."

"Oh grandpa Steve is cranky, again."Jade said pinching his cheek.

Steve shook his head and laughed. "Shut up." He said hitting Jade with his towel that was on his shoulder, making Jade laugh. Steve and Jade then closed the door and went back into the break room.

"Hurry up, slackers. Time to sling ice cream." Robin said to Jade and Steve. Jade and Steve made their way out to the front of the store and they were jam packed.

Once school finished Steve's dad punished him by making him get a job in the mall. Steve didn't get into Tech so working in the mall was Steve's last option. Steve had ranted about working at the mall to Jade for weeks. Jade felt bad for Steve so she decided she would apply to the job as well. A few weeks later they had both received the job.

Steve felt better that Jade was working with him, it made him feel better that she wasn't judging him based on his silly job. Jade didn't mind the job she thought it was easy, and she liked having cash every here and there. Along with the new job Jade had made a new friend, Robin.

Steve wasn't very fond of Robin, he thought she was weird and annoying. But Jade thought differently about Robin, she thought she was funny and laid back. And Jade never had a ton of girlfriends so Robin being one of them made her happy.

As they continued to help Robin serve ice cream to the customers the lights throughout the entire mall shut off.

"That's weird," Steve said looking around.

"Ouuu spooky." Jade said in low voice as she wiggled her fingers at Steve. "What's wrong? Scared of the dark, Harrington?"

Steve scoffed. "Says the one who made me buy a bedside lamp." Steve said as he walked over to the light switch and started to flick it off and on continuously.

Jade rolled her eyes. "That was for your own good. Seriously. Your room is dark as shit."

"Mhm." Steve scoffed, as he kept flicking the light switch.

"Okay, what the hell are you doing?" Jade asked Steve.

"That isn't going to work, dingus." Robin said annoyed.

"Oh, really?" Steve said looking at the two girls and flicking it off and on faster.

"Stevie, you're only going to mess up the light switch." Jade said to Steve who kept flicking it off and on.

"It's going to work, give me a sec." Steve said still doing as he pleased.

A few moments later the lights then turned on and everyone continued what they were doing.
