Because of what happened the day before they were taking shifts on watching Max. Jade had just fallen asleep in the Wheelers basement with Steve,Nancy and Dustin who was now on Max watch. As she started to doze off she heard noise coming from the walkie.

"Dustin, can you hear me? Dustin? Earth to Dustin."

Jade got up quickly and went to pick up the walkie. "Sorry Eddie, it's Jade."

"Byers! Hey. Um, I'm gonna need a food delivery, like, really soon, unless you want me going out into the world."

Jade shook her head."No! No. Stay where you are, it'll only cause more problems for you. We'll get there as soon as we can."

"Yeah. Listen, um...can you pick me up a six-pack? I know, it's stupid as shit, drinking right now-,"

"A six-pack? Dude, it's 8 in the morning."

"Wow. No cigarettes, no beer. What have they done to you."

Jade rolled her eyes and scoffed."They haven't done any-." Jade caught a glimpse of the couch and Max was gone. "Fuck! I got to go. I'll radio you back." Jade said in a rush as she quickly turned to Dustin and Steve.

"Dustin! Dustin!" She said shaking him awake.

"Mm."He groaned.

Jade grabbed one of the nearby pillows and hit Dustin with it. "You asswipe! You were supposed to be on Max watch!"

"Yep, yep. Sorry." Dustin said rubbing his eyes.

"Whats wrong?" Nancy asked.

"Max is gone."

"What!?" Nancy and Dustin both said. The three of them immediately got up and started to make their way around the house looking for her. They all let out a sigh of relief when they found her at the kitchen table coloring and listening to music with Holly.

"Morning, guys." Mrs. Wheeler said. "Everything okay?"

"Yeah. Yeah, everything's okay." Nancy said.

"I think it's so sweet that you guys are sticking together like this." Mrs. Wheeler said placing a fresh batch of pancakes on a plate. While Mr. Wheeler sat at the island with a small stack of three for himself and a coffee, as he read the newspaper.

Mr.Wheeler didn't bother to look up from his newspaper."Could try sticking together at a different house for a change."Mr. Wheeler chimed in with annoyance in his tone.

Jade looked at him and gave him a cold hearted smile. She reached over onto his plate and grabbed the syrup covered pancake on top of the three layered stack. She folded the pancake like a taco and took a bite. "It's good to see you too Mr.Wheeler." Mr. Wheelers mouth dropped as he watched Jade walk over to Max as she ate his pancake. Dustin laughed as he grabbed a plate to serve himself.

"You know, you're all welcome here anytime." Mrs. Wheeler said to them. "It takes me back to when you were all little and all crowded in that basement for hours." She said with a laugh making Jade smile at the memory.

"Aw I forgot about that, it feels so long ago. Thank you for breakfast, Mrs. Wheeler." Jade said giving her a kind smile. Jade walked over to the table with Nancy and Max.

Max turned off her music and took off her headphones."Hey." Max said softly.

Jade smiled and replied with a small "Hey."

Max looked at the pancake folded in Jades hand with a bit mark. Her eyebrows furrowed. "You don't like pancakes." Max said quietly to Jade.

Jade winced as she took another bite. "I know but he was being snotty and I'm trying to be an asshole by eating his pancake." Jade said as she chewed in disgust making Max laugh.
