The Weirdo on Maple Street

Very soon word had spread that the youngest Byers brother was missing. It pissed Jade off now that random people were mourning over her little brother.

The house wasn't the same since her mother Joyce had gone into a spiral trying everything she could to find him. The Chief wouldn't let her do much though his orders were for the Byers to stay home and to not go looking for him.

Her brother Jonathan had seemed more quiet than usual. When they had told Jade that the reason Will was missing was because he biked home alone that night Jonathan blamed himself.

"Johnny can I come in?" Jade received no answer. She nudged the door slightly and seeing it was unlocked she walked right in.

Jonathan was sitting on the edge of his bed staring at his stereo. He was completely zoned out. Jade didn't know what to say but she sat next to her brother.

"Johnny we have to go early today. Mom wants us to stop by and make missing flyers for Will", Jade said softly trying to gain her brothers attention.

"This is all my fault, all my fault", Jonathan said shaking his head. He was bouncing his legs up and down with his hands place on his knees.

"Hey Johnny stop it. It's not your fault", She said placing her hand on his to stop his bouncing legs.

"No but it is if I-." Jonathan started but Jade cut him off.

"Johnny stop pondering over what you could have done differently that night. Will would always ride home alone," Jade said trying to ease her brother.

"Yeah but the one time mom wanted me to pick him up and I don't this happens," He said.

"Don't focus on what you could have done differently. Let's just focus on finding him. Okay? We're going to find him", Jade said back.

"Yeah...okay", Jonathan replied pulling her into a hug.

The twins were always very close but they did have their moments when they would fight. Like the one time Jonathan broke one of Jades records "Metal Health"by Quiet Riot.

It was an accident but Jonathan knew not to fuck with Jades music. And when she found out she was pissed only because Jonathan would make fun of Jade for listening to it he called the song "Freak Music" and she told him it was ironic coming from him.

But secretly Jonathan started to like it so he snuck her record in his room and somehow the klutz broke it. Jade chased him around the kitchen with a knife that day.

Joyce was running around in circles trying to get them to stop and Will was laughing hysterically he almost peed his pants. But other than that the twins were always together and were very close.

"Alright I'm gonna get ready for school. Go make breakfast and try to get mom out of bed. I tried but she won't budge.", Jade said standing up from her brothers bed.

"Yeah yeah yeah", He responded watching her leave.

Due to the circumstances Jade was smoking more than usual and had yet again fallen back into her bad habits.

She was scared and sad about her missing brother. And God was she worried, she just wanted her little brother back. But she tried not to show it to be strong for her mom and brother.

Jade opened her drawer and pulled out her antidepressants, she looked down at them not knowing whether to take one or not. She then unscrewed the bottle and tossed one in her mouth washing it away with some water.

She was finishing getting ready but then heard bickering from the kitchen. She quickly finished getting ready and walked into the kitchen.

"Alright mom breakfast is ready, cmon you too Jade", Jonathan said trying to place the food down on the table.
