Mariano AUs

Some of these are well known and some of these I made up, if you need me to explain I will.

Real Life: He's wealthy, but that's all he's known for. He's not as wealthy as the Madrigals and his money is old money, not money from famous family members. He admits to Dolores that he wishes he could be a famous poet instead of just being the heir to his mother's industries who would have a trophy wife on day.

Reverse: He would befriend the non gifted Madrigal and Abuelo would be drawing a match between the two of them as he's the most perfect man in the village and it might draw the bad press away from Isabela for her lack of gift and mother vanishing, but Mariano confesses to having a crush on Dolores to Isabela.

Harry Potter: Ravenclaw. His friends tease him about Isabela, but there's one Ravenclaw who's always down for studying with him no matter what and listening to his theories. It takes until the Amortentia lesson to realize he likes her and not the Slytherin Isabela.

Hero: A lois lane type, a reporter who always gets rescued by Vine and everyone thinks they're together but he doesn't like her like that and she doesn't like him. It's good press though so neither publicly deny it.

Mermaid: A shark protector who wishes he was a siren, he likes to sing but his voice doesn't do anything to enchant any humans in any way. Dolores still says his voice is her favorite sound though.

Apocalypse: He would not survive.

Soulmate: Hear each other's thoughts. He knows early on that Isabela is not who's thoughts he's hearing but he wants to trick himself into thinking that he and Isabela are soulmates so he doesn't seek out the person with the same voice. Until "All of you" happens and he realizes.

Bruno took Mirabel: He would not be promised to Isabela, there would be talk of it but Agustin would speak up in Isabela's defense, and after Mariano hears that, he pulls Isabela aside and asks if she wants him to write a poem from her to her long lost hermana. Isabela agrees and it's a tradition every year on Mirabel's birthday for them to collaborate in writing one.

Mirabel's dead: He'd offer shelter to the Madrigals, and when no one talks to Alma, he offers to be the go between, since he can't really blame her since he doesn't know what happened. Not the whole story. Mostly he just misses the girl he considered a little sister since she was eight and he was fourteen, and wishes he had told her he saw her as that before.

Monster: He is a human that after Mirabel goes to human classes, becomes her older brother in the human world. When Dolores hears about this,  the banshee demands the human tell her all about, and Mirabel has even caught Dolores asking if Felix can turn him into a vampire. At the end though, The ghost agrees to a banshee human match if Mariano's okay with all the monsters. And he is, he's not afraid, he thinks their fascinating.
