Chapter One.
Eleanor was lying in bed, like she had been doing for the past five weeks. She didn't have any tears left to cry, so all she could do now was to sit in silence wallowing in self-pity. She didn't understand where it had all gone wrong. She was more than willing to keep the relationship going while Calum was on the other side of the world. Apparently though, Calum didn't think it would work out.
Eleanor's best friend, Adriana, burst through the door which caused her to pull her blanket over her head. If I can't see you, you can't see me. Right? Wrong.
"I know you're there, stupid" Adriana laughed. "Come on, we're going to do some retail therapy today - even though we're not going shopping so technically it's not retail. I'm not sitting in this room with you for another second," Adriana rambled as she pulled the blanket off of Eleanor's body. "You look like you stink, come on, in the shower." Eleanor just grumbled and flipped herself over burying her face in the pillows that were now losing their comfort as she hadn't adjusted them in a while. Eleanor hadn't been in the mood to move from her bed for the past five weeks and she most definitely wasn't in the mood to move now., and she wasn't planning to. Of course, she had eaten. Her mum had made sure of that. It mainly consisted of comfort food, but her mum didn't mind; as long as she was eating something.
Never in a million years did Eleanor think she would get this upset over a break up. But where there's love there's heartbreak.
Adriana grabbed Eleanor by the feet and dragged her off the bed, causing her to fall to the floor. She then moved to grab her hands and pulled her up. Adriana pushed Eleanor into the bathroom and closed the door on her leaning against the door. Knowing she wouldn't be able to win this one, Eleanor stripped down and got in the shower hoping it might help her feel better. Once Adriana heard the shower turn on, she moved away from the door and back into Eleanor's room.
Adriana was the kind of person who tidied up people's rooms, even if she wasn't asked to. She completely stripped down Eleanor's bed and took all the sheets downstairs to put in the wash. With the sheets in the wash, Adriana headed back upstairs and threw all of the used tissues in Eleanor's room in the bin. Adriana didn't mind; she knew that if Eleanor's room was tidier it might help her feel better. The shower cut off, which was Adriana's cue to leave Eleanor's room so that she could get dressed.
Eleanor knew straight away that Adriana had been tidying up, as soon as she saw that there were no sheets on her bed. It normally frustrated Eleanor how Adriana tidied up other people's mess, but right now she was pretty thankful that she did.
Eleanor pulled on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, before pulling on her favourite slippers. She tried to sit back on her bed, but Adriana had come back upstairs at this point. She had amazing timing skills.
"So what do you want to do? I know you probably don't want to go out so we can either watch a movie or bake a cake" Adriana suggested. In all honesty, Eleanor didn't want to do anything so a movie would be the closest thing she could get to not having to do anything at all.
"I guess I could try and watch a movie" It felt like Eleanor hadn't spoken in ages, but Adriana had been constantly over to make sure she had been okay.
"Perfect!" Adriana smiled. She dragged Eleanor down the stairs and sat her down on the sofa while she set up the movie.
"Ade, did you tidy in here?" Eleanor's voice was timid but Adriana still heard her. It was a stupid question really. Of course Adriana had tidied, it was what Adriana did best. Adriana really reminded Eleanor of Monica Geller from the sitcom, F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
"Always" Adriana replied as she sat next to Eleanor on the sofa as the film started.
