Chapter Four.
Calum had been scribbling yet another letter to Eleanor although this one was turning out to be more of a song. He'd written a letter every day since he left for tour. However, he never sent them though. He was the reason they broke up, why would she want to receive a letter from the guy who broke her heart? He started humming a tune, putting the words he had written on the piece of paper in front of him to music. He missed her like crazy, and this wasn't helping in the slightest but they needed more material for their upcoming album so he might as well try it out. Picking up his guitar, Calum started playing random chords and writing down the ones he felt that worked. Considering the purpose behind the song, Calum was pretty pleased with it. He had never completely written a song all by himself, so he was pretty proud of himself for that. He normally wrote with one of the other boys, or didn't write at all.
Ashton, Luke and Michael were still out at the club, and Calum wasn't sure when they were going to be back. He didn't even know if they knew he had left to come back to the hotel. He was about to ring them to see if they were okay, when the door to his hotel room slammed open. Ashton and Michael always thought they were being quiet when they were drunk, but they couldn't be louder if they tried.
"There he is!" Michael slurred.
"The party pooper" Ashton giggled. Both Ashton and Michael were completely out of, but Luke seemed to be more sober. He always was the more sensible one.
"I told you I wasn't in the mood to go out" he told them, placing his guitar back down at the side of his bed. Luke noticed the piece of paper in front of Calum and asked if he could see it. Calum handed the piece of paper to Luke and he read it over. Ashton was giggling uncontrollably now, and he ended up on the floor rolling about. "Shut up, Ashton you'll wake everyone up" Calum frowned.
"PARTY POOPER!" Michael shouted, causing Calum to roll his eyes. He wasn't in the mood for this right now. All of a sudden it went completely quiet. Ashton had passed out on the floor and Michael was lying across a chair.
"Guess, they're sleeping in here tonight" Calum sighed. Luke ended up going back to his own room, considering Calum's room was already pretty crowded. Calum got changed into something more comfortable and lay down on top of his covers. He stared up at the ceiling for a while before he slowly drifted off to sleep. It was the first night since he left for tour where he didn't cry himself to sleep.
Calum woke up before everyone else the next morning. He knew he had to stay quiet, Michael was not a morning person and he was even worse when he had a hangover to deal with.
Calum felt like leaving the hotel today. This hadn't happened in a while, so he was going to let the boys take advantage of that. They had ended up going bowling, and as it turned out, Calum had a good time. Calum would get a wave of jealousy when a couple would walk past him. He hated that he had let that go. Michael was the only one who really noticed this, so he pulled Calum to the back of the group so they could talk.
"Feel like you're seeing more couples everywhere now that you're not with Eleanor?" he asked. Calum hadn't really thought of it that way, but that was exactly how it was. He had most definitely been seeing more couples everywhere now that he was single again.
