 Chapter Eight.

Calum was regretting going to see Eleanor. He had barely returned home in one piece, he was finding it hard to see due to the fact he had tears pooling up in his eyes. He sniffled and wiped his eyes clear of tears before turning off the ignition and exiting his car. He struggled to unlock his front door, his hands shaking so much. After a few attempts, he gave up and kicked the door in frustration. He leaned against the wall sliding down anger starting to bubble up inside of him, when Michael opened the door.

"Calum? What..." Michael started to ask, but Calum interrupted him.

"You lied Michael! You said she wouldn't have moved on yet! But she has! She'd gone and found a fantastically new boyfriend!" Calum spoke, sarcastically, suddenly finding strength to stand up. "I lost her! I lost her! I'm never going to get her back!" Calum pushed his best friend, a little harder than he expected, causing him to fall into the wall behind him. Normally Michael would have probably retaliated but his heart broke for his best friend; he had never seen him so upset, so broken. Calum clenched his jaw, running his fingers through his hair before taking himself into a different room.

"What's going- Oh, I take it, it didn't..." Ashton burst into the room - along with Luke, and started asking questions, but Michael immediately cut him off by shaking his head. He didn't want to anger Calum even more by reminding him what had happened, even though Calum was already thinking about it. Michael knew from previous experiences, though, that hearing why you're upset just makes you worse. "I think a group hug is needed" Ashton stated, matter of factly, walking up to him. Calum frowned but the three boys wrapped their arms around him anyway and he started to feel better. He was glad to have such amazing friends to help him through this, he didn't know what he would do without them. He knew that no matter what, these three would always be his best friends, and for a first time in a while he smiled a genuine smile at the thought.

"Why don't we go out tonight?" Luke suggested, as the boys separated.

"I'm not going to a club" Calum quickly responded. Normally, Calum didn't mind going to clubs, he just didn't want to end up doing something he would regret. Something that could possibly completely ruin his chances of ever getting Eleanor back; even though right now that seemed as if that was never going to happen.

"No, I was thinking more of an Arcade" All the boys loved going to Arcades to hang out, especially Michael and Calum.

The boys had been at the arcade for about two hours now, and they had played on pretty much every game there was.  Seeing as they had run out of games to play, the boys decided to head on home. Calum had temporarily forgotten his problems, but as soon as the boys returned home, his mind wandered back to them. Ashton somehow noticed this, and decided him and the rest of the boys had to try and keep him distracted.

"New plan!" Ashton announced. "We need to keep Calum distracted until he falls asleep."

"No that's really not necessary..." Calum didn't want to be distracted, but at the same time he did. Normally thinking about Eleanor made Calum happy, but not anymore. Not now she had got herself a new boyfriend. Boyfriend. Just the thought of it made him feel sick to the stomach. It made him feel like someone had ripped his heart out and put it in a blender, before stomping on it.

"No! No excuses, tonight you will be happy" Ashton cheered.

"I second that!" Luke spoke up.

"I THIRD IT!" Michael shouted, causing the other three boys to stare at him.

"Okay, so what do you suggest we do?" Calum asked. This question stumped Ashton; he actually didn't know what they could do. He opened his mouth to say something, but closed it again as he couldn't think of anything to say. Calum raised his eyebrows, thankful that he didn't have to even try to get out of this one. He wasn't in the mood for arguing, or any stupid games of 'Truth or Dare'. "Okay, well as fun as that sounds," he spoke sarcastically. "I think I'm just going to go to bed early tonight"

Before any of the boys could argue, Calum headed up the stairs and to his room. He changed into his joggers and a hoodie. Except, it wasn't just any hoodie; Eleanor had got it for him for his last birthday. She often wore it, when she stayed over for the night and it still smelled of her, slightly. He brought the collar of the hoodie to his nose and breathed in. He leaned back on his bed, and sighed. He groaned, thinking about how much he had screwed up. It wasn't like he had cheated; Calum could never cheat – especially not on Eleanor. Calum knew that relationships weren't some game you could cheat in but he had still screwed up; he had chosen his career over the love of his life. He was starting to question it all now, especially now Eleanor was with Aaron. It wasn't long before he fell asleep, still thinking of her.
