Chapter Fourteen.
Calum found himself checking Eleanor's twitter regularly over the past few days; he liked knowing what was going on with her life. He missed her and he felt that this was the only way to stay apart of her life.
The boys had just finished their final concert in France and they were all buzzing. They reached their dressing room and all four of them collapsed onto the sofas. Calum pulled his phone out of his pocket and scrolled through his Facebook timeline. After flicking through the same posts several times, he moved onto his Twitter. He scrolled through his mentions, reading his fan's tweets, retweeting a few of them, and following a few fans. After doing this for a few minutes, he composed his own tweet.
"Calum5SOS: France you've been amazing! Up next, Portugal! Love you guys x"
Within seconds the tweet had thousands of retweets and favourites. He smiled at how amazing his fans were, before scrolling through his home tweets. He saw a load of excited fans, tweeting about the fact that Calum had just followed or retweeted them. After favouriting a few of those, he came across a recent tweet from Eleanor. Butterflies emerged in his stomach as he read her words.
"@ItsJustEleanor: I used to not mind being single, but now I'm just missing you"
Calum found himself smiling when he read the tweet. He knew now that he had a better chance of trying to get her back. If only he could build up enough courage to speak to her when he got back home. It was funny really, Calum never had any problem talking to Eleanor, but he always became nervous just thinking about talking to her, ever since they broke up.
"What are you smiling at?" Luke asked. Calum blushed, trying to cover his smile with his hand.
"Nothing" Calum told them. Luke's eyebrows rose, and before he knew it, Calum's phone was in Michael's hand. Calum tried to snatch it back, but Luke and Ashton held him down while Michael read the words on the screen.
"Well, it seems as if Eleanor is single again" Michael announced, all the boys looking at each other knowingly. Calum blushed harder, now that the boys knew.
"Doesn't mean she wants to get back with me though" Calum spoke, suddenly doubting himself.
"It clearly states, right here, that she misses you. So I think you have a better chance than you think" Michael told him, pointing at the tweet in front of him.
"Except I can hardly think about talking to her without getting nervous, let alone actually talking to her." Calum admitted.
It was Ashton's turn to lie awake that following night. He was trying to think of ways to help Calum in his situation, but that was proving difficult. Almost impossible. He had the idea of using Calum's song, but he wasn't sure what to do with it. Did they play it live in front of thousands of fans, and make sure Eleanor was in the crowd? Or did they play it for her privately?
Rolling over, Ashton looked at the alarm clock on the table next to his bed, which read 3:43am. He hadn't realised it was so early in the morning, he had been lying awake thinking for longer than he thought he had been.
Realising he should probably get some sleep, Ashton decided he would talk to Michael and Luke about his idea in the morning.
