Chapter Eighteen.

Calum was distracted the whole time they were rehearsing. He couldn't stop thinking about seeing Eleanor next week. He was hoping she felt the same way he did.

"Yo, Calum! Why so distracted?" Michael called out, pulling Calum out of his thoughts. Calum's attention moved towards Michael, before apologising.

"Let's take a break," Ashton suggested. "What's on your mind, Cal?" Ashton asked, stepping away from his drum kit.

"Nothing" Calum lied. Michael, Luke and Ashton all raised their eyebrows at him, clearly not believing him. Michael and Luke both carefully lay their guitars down on the stage, before the three of them walked over to Calum. "I was just thinking about next week" Calum admitted, placing his bass on the stage as well. The three boys nodded their heads, knowing what he meant.

"Don't worry about it mate, it's pretty obvious she still feels the same way" Luke spoke up.

"I sure hope so" Calum sighed.

The boys had returned to the hotel, and they had found a lounge area with a collection of board games. Calum had managed to persuade the boys to play Monopoly after he had found it on one of the shelves, so after five minutes of persuading, the boys were now twenty minutes into the game.

"I don't get why you like this game so much, it literally goes on forever" Ashton spoke, rolling the dice and moved his piece. "Aw, remind me why I sold my 'Get out of Jail Free' card?" Ashton pouted, as he had landed in jail.

"That's exactly why I like this game, because it goes on forever" Calum admitted. Ashton stared at Calum confused, and raised an eyebrow hoping Calum would elaborate on his answer. "I mean, other games normally end within in five minutes and then you have to find something else to do" Calum explained, as he took his turn. "Plus, think how rich you would be if this was real life" Calum nodded towards Ashton's wad of money. Ashton stared at Calum for a while before nodding in agreement. It was true, if the Monopoly money was real, Ashton probably wouldn't even need a job.

An hour later and the boys were still playing Monopoly. Michael was currently winning, and loved the fact he had money coming in, pretty much every time someone rolled the dice.

"I hate this game" Luke whined as he found himself counting up money to pay Michael, once again.

"Only because you're losing" Michael laughed, holding his hand out, waiting for Luke to pay up. Luke mumbled a "Whatever" before handing over a load of the fake money. "Thank you," Michael smugly spoke, taking the money and adding it to his pile. Luke sighed, before sliding the dice over to Ashton.

After three hours of playing Monopoly, the boys had finally finished playing the never ending game. Michael had won, just as the boys had suspected; there was no way they could have beaten him with the amount of hotels he ended up with on his properties. By the time they had finished packing the game away, it was nearing midnight.

"Wow, I hadn't realised how late it was" Ashton spoke, checking the time on his watch. The rest of the boys checked their watches also, but none of them bothered to move from where they were seated.

After about ten minutes of just lazing around in the lounge room, the boys found themselves back in their hotel rooms.

Calum was sat on his bed scrolling through Twitter like he did most nights. He looked over to Ashton's bed, to find him sprawled out on his bed, fast asleep.

Calum laughed at how his best friend was sleeping, before deciding he should get some sleep too. He fell asleep pretty much as soon as his head hit the pillow.
