Author note This episode one shot is based on the episode right after Michaela gets kidnapped in whiskey she's having a hard time afterwards so maybe Jay could help her out

General pov; it's been about two weeks since the kidnapping in the rescue and Michaela ever since then she has been having a hard time like having nightmares Kim and Adam at trying to help but nothing seems to be working so right now they are at work doing paperwork

KA= so I don't Kim how is the little queen doing
AR=um  she is doing okay
KB= she is still traumatized Kevin we aren't getting much sleep because she's having at least one nightmare at night so there's that
HU= Poor kid has she told you guys anything about what she went through
AR= no she hasn't but the doctor said it was totally normal
J= I can agree to that it took me a while to open up to someone after what happened overseas but it helped
KB= how long did it take you to finally not have nightmares and feeling normal again Jay
J= it took me a long time but it would have took in longer if I didn't have a mouse who pushed me to go into therapy
AR= well that's good
HU= oh I have an idea that could work
KB= oh really what is your idea Haley
HU= How about you have Jay hang out with Makayla for a couple hours maybe Jake and help her open up more
AR= you know what Haley that actually sounds like a good idea
KB= it's not a bad idea Haley so what do you say Jay would you be OK with hanging out with Makayla for a couple hours one day
J= I would love to but I will only do it if Makayla is OK with it
KB= understandable jay
AR= maybe tonight we will go home and ask her
J= Great call me later with her answer
KB= we could do that

They finish the paperwork within 20 minutes and then everyone heads home once Kevin Adam get home they help Michaela with her homework after they eat dinner now it's time for bedtime

MW= can you guys read me a bedtime story
AR= we sure can kiddo
KB= but before we do that we need to talk to you about some
MW= you do what is it
AR= so you know our friend Jay that we work with
MW= yeah he's pretty cool
KB= oh yes he is
AR= so we were thinking maybe one day soon you can go and hang out with Jay for a little bit
KB= and maybe if you feel comfortable Jay enough you can talk to him about how you've been feeling since the whole kidnapping thing
AR= so what do you say
MW= um sure that would be fine
KB= great we will let him know
AR= are you OK with hanging out with him tomorrow after school
MW= yeah that would be cool but can I ask for something
KB= you sure can what is it
MW= can it only be Jay that I hang out with and not have Haley come with
AR= of course you can
KB= now let's get you to sleep
MW= okay

It takes them about 20 minutes to get Makayla to sleep once they were done they cleaned up from dinner

AR= so are you ready to call Jay
KB= yeah I am let's call him ( they do )
J= hello Kim what's up
KB= First of all just to let you know that you were on speakerphone an atom is here with me
J= all right well you guys are on speakerphone too and Haley is here too
AR= hey Haley
HU= hey Adam hey Kim  so how did it go with Makayla tonight
KB= it went well
AR= and she is totally fine hanging out with you Jay
J= okay that's great so when is our little hangout going to be
KB= how about tomorrow you can pick her up from school and then hang out with her for a while
HU= that sounds great we will be happy to hang out with her
AR= actually about that Haley
KB= Makayla is OK with hanging out with Jay but she wants to be alone to Jay and nobody else
HU= okay that's totally fine
J= I can't wait to hang out with her
AR= she can't either

They all talk for about 30 more minutes to go over things that Makayla likes and dislikes which day then they all hang up and go to sleep, The next day they clear it with Hank that instead of Adam or Kim going to pick Makayla up Jay could, So right before Makayla gets out of school Jay heads over to her school and wait  on her to get out of school about 30 minutes later

J= hey Makayla
MW= hey cool Uncle Jay
J= wow I'm cool uncle Jay
MW= yes you are
J= well that's cool so are you ready to hang out with me today
MW= yes I am
J= all right let's go to the park

They head off to the park Jae watches as Makayla  plays on the playground how about two hours later they decide to go get some food at McDonald's

MW= wait we are at McDonald's
J= yes we are do you like McDonald's
MW= yes I like it but Kim and Adam doesn't take me here that much
J= well your cool uncle Jay said let's eat unhealthy today 
MW= that's why your cool
J= why thank you now let's go eat
MW= all right
MCW= hello how may I help you folks
J= for one do you know what you want and if so would you like to order on your own Makayla
MW= I know what I want and I can do it by myself
J= all right go ahead
MW= I would like a 10 piece chicken nuggets with a small fly and milk to drink
MCW= OK what about you sir
J= I will order two big Macs  with no cheese on it a large fry and a sweet tea to drink
MCW= all right anything else
J= nope we are all good
MCW= your total will be $14.14 and your food will be ready soon

Jay pays the bill they wait for the food which only takes a few minutes they sit down to eat their food in about 10 minutes later they were done eating

MW= well you ate a lot
J= well that's because I'm always hungry and because I'm a grown-up and I eat a lot more than you do
MW= that's crazy
J= so how have you been lately kiddo
MW= not too bad Adam and Kim are pretty great
J= oh yes they are I'll go so away Are trash be right back
MW= all right
J= So Makayla Kim and Adam told me you have been having nightmares ever since you have been kidnapped is that true
MW= yes it is
J= do you want to talk about it
MW= not really
J= okay that's fair so did Kim and  Adam ever tell you about what I did before I became a police officer
MW= no they didn't what did you do before becoming a police officer
J= well I was an army ranger in the military do you know what that is
MW= yes I do you are a soldier that went overseas to fight
J= that is correct so the reason I bring that up is because after I got home from overseas I had nightmares just like how you have been having
MW= oh really
J= yes also for me they called at PTSD which means post dramatic stress disorder which is very common with soldiers
MW= Oh really how did you do with it
J= Well my one friend mouse
MW= Mouse what kind of name is that
J= ( laughs) well technically his name is Greg but everyone calls him mouse
MW= oh all right
J= well my friend realized how bad I was after coming back so he told me to go into therapy
MW= oh I go to therapy
J= oh yeah to me him forcing me to go to therapy will he help me
MW= oh really
J= yeah do you think therapy has helped you since the whole kidnapping thing
MW= yes it has
J= well that's good to hear
MW= but why do I still have nightmares
J= you will have them for a while but they will go away eventually believe me
MW= I believe you Uncle Jay
J= ( notice her acting strange) are you OK Makayla
MW= um i'm doing OK but I am worried
J= you are what are you worried about
MW= i'm still worried that either me or Kim will get kidnapped again
J= Oh no that won't happen I promise you that the guys that cannot you Aunt Kim won't ever come near you guys again I promise you that and I always keep my promises if you don't believe me ask him an atom they will tell you
MW= I believe you Jay I just hate that bad men only kidnap girls and women why not men
J= oh no it's not true
MW= it isn't
J= nope I'm going to tell you a little story about me about four years ago I got kidnapped by some bad men
MW= you did
J= oh yeah I did but I also got kidnapped again about two years ago by another set of bad men
MW= Wait where are you got kidnapped
J= yes Willie and you know what else
MW= no  what else
J= I had nightmares after both of my kidnappings too
MW= wow you did
J= yes I did so Bad men will cannot anybody they want to and a lot of people also have nightmares does that make you feel any better
MW= yes it does thank you for helping me understand uncle Jay
J= you're so welcome kiddo
MW= can we go play more
J= yes we can let's go back to the park and have fun

They head back to the park so Makayla can play more about two hours later Jay takes her back home and talks to Adam and Kim on what they talked about, Makayla said she wanted to hang out with Jay more often so they do for the next two weeks, About few weeks later Makayla stops having nightmares and was back to her being her happy normal self
