A surprise from the past

Authors note, this idea came to me after I built something similar for my other couple, which is stellaride so I hope you like it this episode is going to be set in season four after Jay moved in with Erin

General pov; it's a normal day for Erin and Jay they wake up together they grab copy and head into work. Once they get there they start on paperwork that they needed to catch up on from the day before while they are doing that downstairs Platt is doing her normal thing when all of a sudden she sees someone walking into the district looking lost.

P= hey ma'am, can I help you?
AC= yes can you tell me if Jay Halstead still works here?
P= yes he does
AC= that's good to hear. Is he here today?
P= he is here today. Do you need to talk to him or see him?
AC= yes I would love to talk to him.
P= all right then I will call him down
AC= all right thank you
P= you're welcome ( calls)
J= hey platt what's up
P= well hello detective chuckles. I have a visitor here to see you. Are you available to come see them?
J= of course I'm not busy , I'll be down in a minute Sergeant.
P= all right ( hangs up) he will be down in a second
AC= all right thanks
E= what was that about?
J= I guess I have a visitor downstairs waiting for me
E= OK well you go see who it is and why they are here while I finish this paperwork up
J= all right thanks I hope I won't be that long
E= let's hope so
J= ( downstairs) hey platt where is my visitor at?
P= she is over there ( points )
J= OK thanks ( looks ) Wait, no way Allie.
AC= hey Jay, you still look good
J= ( hugs) thanks, so do you how long has it been?
AC= it's been 2 1/2 years almost 3 if not longer since I was here last
J= wow long time, so what are you doing here?
AC= well I came here because I need to talk to you about something
J= oh, well, let's head into this office right here
AC= OK let's go
J= so what do you need to talk to me about Allie
AC= well we remember the last time I was in town we had a little fun like we used to
J= oh yeah, I remember
AC= well after I got back home, I started to feel very sick all of a sudden and after a while, it didn't go away so I went to the doctor and I got told I was pregnant
J= wait you had a kid
AC= yes I did but actually Jay me and you had a kid
J= wait really wow
AC= yeah I'm sorry I didn't tell you until now
J= wait that was three years ago so our kid has to be three years old now
AC= they just turned two about five months ago
J= wow I'm shocked
E= ( opens door) hey sorry to interrupt, but we got a case we need to go
J= OK I'm coming
E= I'll see you outside
AC= I guess you got to go
J= yeah I wish we can finish our conversation but it will have to wait until later. Wait, do you still have the same number you had back then or is it different?
AC= yes I do have the same number it hasn't changed
J= I'll call you later so we can talk more
AC= all right Jay be safe

Jay runs off and joins Erin in the car and head off to the climbing couple hours later they've got some great leads on the case but he decides to send everyone home since everybody needs to rest up and be on a better headspace to figure out this case the next day

J= we are finally home after a long day
E= oh yes, we are thank God
J= so should we cook something to eat or should we order pizza or takeout?
E= I say no cooking, so order us some takeout because I'm hungry
J= you got it ma'am, I'm coming right up
E= you are the best
J= I try ( calls ) and the food should be here in about 45 minutes
E= that's great and that gives me enough time to ask you some questions
J= OK what is your questions then?
E= so the girl in the office you were talking with when I interrupted she looked kind of familiar who is she?
J= well the girl is my ex-girlfriend from high school the one who her little brother was murdered
E= oh yeah, I remember her, so why is she here?
J= well she came to tell me something that she has been keeping for me
E= oh Willy what has she been keeping you for this long?
J= well I guess when she was in town last time we hooked up we didn't use any production and she ended up getting pregnant. So now I have a child who is two years old.
E= wait are you kidding me
J= I wish I wasn't. I'm sorry to drop this bomb on you like this.
E= for one it's not your fault that you didn't know you had a child out there for the last two years but it is your fault for not remembering to wear a condom you stupid idiot ( smacks him across the arm)
J= hey it just happened. I don't even think about it and for two you didn't even complain when we played scrabble in the shower this morning and I wasn't wearing a condom.
E= no I wasn't but that's not the point didn't your mother teach you and your brother about putting on a condom so you wouldn't be in the situation
J= oh, yes, she did. Trust me.
E= but back to the topic. Wow you have a kid out there.
J= oh yeah, that's crazy to think and to say it out loud
E= oh, I bet, so what are you going to do about this?
J= I'm not sure right now
E= so would you like to meet your kid?
J= of course I would
E= that's good to know so maybe you should call Ally to set up a day to meet your kid babe
J= OK I will go do that
E= all right then I will go grab some beer so when dinner gets here will be ready
J= all right babe
