It smacked me in the face,
Like a cold, hard hand,
Leaving its mark on me.
My eyes are wide open,
Filled with shock and unshed tears.
Emotions contort and shift,
My features become that of a statue.
I crumble to the floor below,
Laying in pieces of broken stone, and heart.
I am frozen in place,
Getting lost in Times maze.
Heart throbbing faster than a hare,
Being chased by a cruel monster.
My mind is stuck, stuck in quicksand,
Mouth agape and dry as a desert.
I fell from the highest clouds,
Just to land on the cracking asphalt.
Falling to pieces in front of you,
But you just walk all over me,
Not even caring to see me as I break more.
I don't need to be told to get a grip on reality.
No need to taunt and to pinch me,
Because I already know.
That, this, is actually happening
I know this isn't a dream,
Not even a nightmare.
I know, that this is real,
Even if I wish it wasn't.
My heart is broken,
And you are gone.
