They slithered into my life,
Like the sneaky snake they are.
~~~
They wound themselves around my pounding heart,
Protecting me with their armor of impenetrable scales,
But they always seem to squeeze the life out of me.
~~~
They sank their venomous, sharp fangs into my neck,
Piercing my skin and heart in one painful, blissful bite.
~~~
By poisoning my soul, they claimed me as theirs to keep.
~~~
I could not protest, not even attempt to push them away
Because, whether by cruel fate or their hypnotizing eyes,
I was spellbound, I had fallen for the the Serpent King.
~~~
I do not know if it is this spell, or if just my tainted heart,
But I feel I would not want it any other way, no, not at all.
~~~
For the Serpent King loves me, just as much I do them.
