Symbols hold many meanings and definitions,
Each worth a thousand words in a foreign tongue.
Like the crooked picture hanging on the dirty wall,
And the puzzle we try to put together,
Even when it is missing pieces.
Made in a code meant not to be deciphered easily,
Each one holds a key to a box similar to Pandora's.
Hidden in a thick, muggy fog of mystery,
Lost in the forest of forbidden knowledge.
But curiosity vexingly edges us towards it,
Like a starving, stray cat to the scent of its next meal.
Reach out towards the unknown and seemingly terrifying,
Grasp for the meaning so we can understand
What these symbols are keeping hidden in plain sight.
