"How is he through the years? When is his birthday? What's his favorite food and color? Marunong ba siya magsalita ng Tagalog? Bakit puro English naririnig kong sinasalita niya?"

I gulped while hearing his many questions. I tried to process everything inside my head so that I could answer everything he wanted to know. Lumabas kami ngayon kasama si Alas, siyempre. He took his child out in the mall.

"His birthday is in January 15," panimula ko. "His favorite shade is White and his favorite food is Lasagna. 'Yong dessert niya naman ay Mango Graham. He's okay through the years. Healthy siya at minsan lang magkasakit. He... He doesn't know how to talk in Tagalog because I wanted his first language to be English. Dahil doon kami mas magkakaintindihan."

"Hindi mo ba siya tuturuan mag Tagalog?" He asked.

"Tuturuan," sagot ko.

"Ako na." He pouted and playfully rolled his eyes.

We went inside the Toy Kingdom. This reminds me of Summer when she was still a kid. Now, she's a teenager.

"What do you want, anak?" Elias lift his child up.

"Anak, you know what you need, okay?"

"It's okay, Alas. Pick what you want," sabi niya sa anak.

"Tignan mo, ang ganda nito," Elias pointed the stuffed toy to his child.

"Yes. I will touch it," inabot ni Alas ang stuffed toy atsaka hinawak-hawakan 'yon. Maya-maya pa ay binalik niya sa shelf. "I don't need it, daddy."

Hindi nakapagsalita si Elias para sumagot. Bumagal ang lakad niya para magpantay kami.

"Stop pressuring the child, Chantal. He cannot choose." Bulong niya sa 'kin.

"What?" My brows furrowed. "I'm not pressuring him. He knows what he needs, 'no. He has self-control." I rolled my eyes, caressing my child's back.

A week had passed. Elias and I would always see each other at work. Nag-uusap lang kami kapag kailangan namin mag-usap. I did not feel awkward at him because I always talk with him at the unit.

Of course I have to adjust when he's sleeping beside Alas! Alangan naman tumabi ako sa kanila roon! Kagaya ngayon, dito ulit siya matutulog.

"Good night, Alas," I smiled at my son. He giggled and waved his hand to me. "You won't kiss me?"

"Mommy, come! I'll kiss you!" He opened his arms to me. Napatingin ako kay Elias na nasa tabi niya nang umusog siya palayo, urging me to come to Alas so I did.

"I love you," I kissed him on the cheeks.

"I love you, Mommy! You won't kiss daddy?" He pouted.
