Woo Young pulled up to the motel where San sat waiting outside. San let our a sigh of relief when he caught a glimpse of Eun-Ji in the passenger side. Woo Young turned off the car and looked to Eun-Ji, "Please think about what we talked about.. to keep my brother safe,"
Eun-Ji nodded and got out of the car without a word. Woo Young followed behind, following her to the door. "Eun-Ji, I'm sorry," San tried to apologize but Eun-Ji ignored him, not giving her brother even a glance as she walked inside. San sighed.
"Give her time, San," Woo Young rested a chilly hand on San's cheek and tilted his head down to kiss his forehead, "I'll get going."
"Thank you," San said softly, and Woo Young offered him a smile before going back to his car. San turned to walk inside, seeing his sister laying on the bed, facing away from him. "Eun-Ji, are you alright?"
She ignored him. She curled herself up in a ball under the covers as she shivered. She had taken off Woo Young's hoodie and set it across San's bed. Her shivering now was not from the cold, but from the overwhelming amount of emotions she felt at the moment. She knew what she had to do, but the thought broke her. Tears flowed again. "Why were we cursed, San?"
San sighed and walked over to the bed she laid in and sat at her feet, "I wish I had an answer.." He rested his hand on her leg, "I'm sorry, Eun-Ji. I know you love him. I could see it. But we know this is the best.. for his safety"
Eun-Ji cried harder. The room felt like it was closing in on her. She buried her face into the pillow to muffle her sobs. San laid behind her on the bed and wrapped his arms around her, holding her there until she eventually fell asleep. He combed through his sisters hair. His heart broke for her.
The siblings eventually dozed into a quiet slumber as the air lightened again.
...
San woke up to notice Eun-Ji was gone. He sat up and stretched as he looked around the now nicely lit room. He looked to the door to see her shoes gone. He sighed as he scanned up to the door, noticing a note written in Eun-Ji's neat hangul.
"Be back soon. Meeting with Yeosang,"
...
Eun-Ji chose to meet Yeosang at a nearby lake, the scenery was beautifully dreadful as she went over in her head how this would play out with Yeosang. She stood at the edge near the lake, skipping stones as she waited. One skipped four times before sinking into the water.
"Nice toss," Eun-Ji spun around to see Yeosang. He wore dark jeans and a gray shirt. And he looked more incredible than ever. His hair was pulled back into a half pony, giving his birthmark that spread across his eye more light. His smile lit up the day, more than the sun could. Eun-Ji smiled softly in response.
"Sang-ie," She nearly leaped into his arms, wrapping her arms around his neck. He returned the embrace, wrapping his large arms around Eun-Ji's seemingly small waist. She pulled back and grabbed his face, pressing her lips into his. Yeosang was struck with a feeling of butterflies overflowing his stomach.
He returned her passion before pulling away, "Eun, what has gotten into you this morning?" He joked as the two let go to instead hold hands. He sat down next to the lake, pulling Eun-Ji down with him. She stayed silent, her once happy smile faded more into a nervous look. "What's wrong?"
Eun-Ji cleared her throat, "I.." She looked away from him, in hopes he wouldn't see her tears forming. "Yeosang, I can't keep you safe.."
Yeosang tilted his head to the side, expression filled with confusion, "Keep me safe? From what?"
Eun-Ji took a deep breath in her attempt to calm herself. "I can't tell you," She admitted. Yeosang's expression shifted slightly as he waited for her to continue. "I love you, Yeosang. Therefore, I cannot tell you,"
