_____ 🌿 _____

JIMIN SAT BY THE EDGE OF THE LAKE, OVERLOOKING THE ORANGE GLOW THAT STRETCHED THE EXPANSE OF THE LAKE'S SURFACE AS THE SUN ROSE OVER THE HORIZON.

He couldn't believe that it was over.

Jimin didn't think he'd ever forget the look on his face as he simply faded into nothing right before his eyes. Was it joy? Relief? Happiness?

Jimin felt calm by the edge of the lake, despite the empty feeling that settled inside of him. He should be thankful that it was all over, but a tiny part of him would miss Dk; the human part that is. He felt at peace and hoped that wherever Dk was, that he could feel it too.

Yoongi sat beside him on the grass, his hand curled around his tightly. Jimin's head rested on his shoulder.

"It's really over," he whispered to him, looking out over the lake. It was so still, and calm. It looked like a sheet of glass reflecting the sky on its surface.

"I suppose so," Yoongi murmured. He tilted his head so he could look Jimin in the eyes. He could see the relief and pain in them. "Mon Coeur," he whispered, taking Jimin's face into his hands. He gasped silently when Jimin shut eyes, and pressed his face into Yoongi's palm, lips grazing over his skin. Jimin laid his hand over Yoongi's holding him there. He was trembling. "Mon Coeur, are you alright?"

He could feel the corner of his mouth twitch upwards into a small smile as he sniffled. A few tears spilled down his already tear-stained cheeks.

"I am so in love with you," he whispered. "I've never felt better than I do right now,"

Yoongi pressed his forehead to Jimin's, sighing in relief. Jimin's body felt cold against his, but he was alive. He could hear his heartbeat hammering in his chest. He could feel the blood pulsing through his veins, and the unmistakable scent of lavender and seafoam coming from him. He kissed his forehead, his cheeks, his lips. Jimin parted his lips eagerly, kissing Yoongi as if he were the air he needed to breathe. He'd been deprived of oxygen for too long.

I didn't fail you this time," he whispered against his lips.

"You've never failed me," Jimin whispered. He pulled him closer and kissed him again, but harder. "You've always been there when I needed you the most,"

"Except for-"

"Hush, that was in the past, Min Yoongi and in case you haven't noticed, history has been re-written. It's really over," he whispered. "He's gone,"

Yoongi nodded. "It's really over," he repeated.

"So what now?"

It was Taehyung's voice that rang out from Jimin's other side. He was carefully holding Jungkook in his arms so as to not cause any more distress to his body. Nothing had been broken, thankfully - only a dislocated shoulder that took little time to fix thanks to Namjoon. Aurora had settled herself between Namjoon's legs, leaning back against his chest, while Jin sat pressed against Hoseok's side.

"Now," Namjoon said, wrapping his arms around his wife's waist. He looked up at the sunrise. "-now we live,"

"It's a new era for us all," Hoseok said, looking at Jin lovingly. "The era of happiness,"

Aurora glanced over at Jimin.

"Where do you think he went?" She asked him gently.

"Hopefully somewhere where he can find peace,"

"Hopefully that's far away from here," Yoongi grumbled, to which Jimin giggled. He kissed his shoulder.

"Yes my love, that too," he said. Yoongi smiled down at him. He rested his head against his shoulder once more and sighed in content.

Together, they sat on the banks of the lake and watched the sun rise higher into the sky.

"So what will we do now?"

They're back in Eden, the two of them alone in the gardens, sprawled out on the grass. The sun had finally risen - the sky a perfect, cloudless blue. Yoongi held Jimin's hand in his, squeezing it every so often. He glanced over at him with a tender smile. Jimin's bruises had faded completely now. No longer did he have to stare at the ugly handprints wrapped around his neck (though he did wonder shamelessly how his body would look with handprints elsewhere).

"We do as Namjoon suggested - we live," Yoongi told him. "Of course, I still have a company to run and you still have school but this time...this time we'll have each other. Nothing can separate us now-"

"Except maybe finals,"

Yoongi rolled his eyes.

"We can be happy, the way it was meant to be," he finished.

"I like the sound of that," Jimin told him, with a smile. "But you're forgetting something important,"

"Oh? What am I forgetting, Mon Coeur?"

"You're forgetting that you have to take me to Paris," Jimin said, looking over at him. He pushed himself up off the grass and straddled Yoongi's waist. He laced his fingers with Yoongi's as he bent down to kiss him. "-and that you're going to marry me once we're there,"

Yoongi chuckled softly, pulling a hand free to rock a lock of hair behind Jimin's ear.

"How could I forget something like that?" He teased, with a fond smile. "I did promise you didn't I?"

"Yes I did, and I expect you to fulfill that promise,"

Yoongi pulled him down for a kiss, fingers curling gently around the back of his neck to hold him in place. It was a slow kiss, with lingering touches.

"Are you sure you want to get married so soon? You've only known me, what, three months?" Yoongi questioned as he pulled away. "We don't have to rush you know," although Yoongi did want to.

Jimin giggled, a mischievous look in his eyes.

"I know I want to marry you, Min Yoongi, but I don't recall saying when,"

"Mmm," Yoongi's eyes seemed embarrassed but amused as Jimin laughed again. It was calming to see the younger so happy again.

"Someone's eager," he teased. His expression softened then. "I'd marry you tomorrow if that's what you wanted, Yoongi - hell I'd marry you right now," Jimin told him. "-and it's not because I want to rush things, or because I'm in some honeymoon stage where nothing can stop me or even because of you putting expectations on me, although you in itself is a damn good reason enough for me to want to get married, but because I think you and I have waited long enough," he whispered. He sat up in Yoongi's lap, taking the older with him. He wrapped his arms loosely around Yoongi's neck.

"So what if I've known you for only three months? I've also known you for what feels like a lifetime and if there is one thing I've ever been more certain of, Min Yoongi, is that I am ready to spend an eternity with you. What do you say?"

Yoongi kissed him.

"I do,"
