Rainbow peaked around the corner of the sand pillar, holding onto Purple. Sabre and Galaxy were talking amongst themselves, around the misplaced obsidian. Rainbow thought it was plain stupid, that Galaxy should just break it and call it a day. To get it over with so they would have protection on the no-so-island pile of sand they were on. He leads Purple up the tower groggily, trying his best to mind Galaxy and his stupidity. He pushed him back into the tower and packed to sand. He looked down at Sabre working on a machine to create a Gal-powered pick and Galaxy being himself. He gritted his teeth as he made his way back down to meet them.

He was about to ask to help but Sabre glared at him warningly. He decided to ignore this, as he for once didn't have much to say about the other steve.

"Can I help?" He asked, leaning to look at the Redstone in his hands.

Sabre shook his head. "No, Gal's helping"

Rainbow sighed and walked a few paces to the side. It was an internal struggle not to shoot a nasty comment at Galaxy, so it was better just to step back. He laid on the warm sand, although not the biggest fan of the arm it was a nice feeling nonetheless. It felt like a hug from the earth, and he could really use one with the place they were in. He picked his head up to see Sabre giving him a weird look.

"What?" Rainbow sat up, sand sticking lightly on him.

"What with you today?" Galaxy asked, tilting his head to the side.

The genuine concern from both of them threw Rainbow off, especially since he wasn't much different than he has been for the last few months. He would have said something snarky, but Sabre what looking at him the same way.

"I don't know what ya mean?" He said, "I'm fine."

"You haven't..." Sabre thought of his words carefully "Said anything rude yet?"

"So? Would you like me to?" Rainbow counted, raising an eyebrow

Sabre said "No! no, I just... it's weird"

"I'm doing what you've told me to do!"

"All of a sudden?" Sabre said, doubtfully

"I've been trying to!" This was true; he had been trying harder to be less mean to Galaxy, even if it was not perfect. "So I just so happen to be doing really good today, okay?"

"I'm not buying it"

Rainbow could help but feel especially hurt by this. Sabre didn't believe him for a second, not a moment's hesitation. He seriously couldn't believe Rainbow wanted to be better. The betrail and hurt must have shown as clear as day, as Sabre's sturdy look of accusation melted into regret. Rainbow quickly got up and brushed the sand off him, fighting himself not to show them how caught off guard Sabre's lack of trust left him.

"I'll be looking for supplies, I won't be far"

"Rain?" Galaxy had been looking back and forth between them, and looked at him with an odd curiosity "Are you okay?"

Rainbow walked away, not to be rude to Galaxy. He felt his carefully crafted wal of emotions crack under the kind-hearted concern. He answered "Yeah", but his voice cracked and he could stop the tears from. No one followed him as he sprinted off into the distance. It left a dead silence where Sabre and Galaxy stood, both looking where he walked away.
