Authors note** I believe this is a fitting 10k special, although extremely late I cannot stress enough what this means to me. I hope to pick back up with my writing, I believe burnout is done beating me to a pulp and I can get back on track. I'm glad so many people love my writing and stories, it truly makes my day with every comment and vote, each number that eye icon goes up, everything. Thank you all for supporting me over the few years I've been sharing my writing and building my passion and skill. And now, enough of my talking, for the superiority of Cheese.

She leaped up to the windowsill, cautiously limbowing between the box of flowers and drop back into the house. The light breeze pushed against and ruffled her brightly colored orange fur, as Cheese looked off into the green terrain. Being in her nature as a feline, and known for perching herself upon the Rainbow House and along the rim under the bridge, she made her way down to the grass. The town was quiet, a not so average day for the often raided and attacked town her owner came in and out of when need be.

As of the moment, Rainbow was tending his flowers and Light was napping by the tree. Cheese thought of them as sort of co-companions. She enjoyed Rainbow's more friend-like company and Light's silent calm they wore around them like a fog. The calmness of the town without her companion and sidekick Sabre was always welcome. She was let to roam freely, always, as she was known to be rather smart. Just uncaring, like most cats.

She decided it was time she went on one of her own solo adventures, without the helicopter parenting nature of her owner. Wouldn't be the first nor the last time she slipped through the gate unnoticed. her fur poofing back up as she wriggled out from under and trotted into the forest. She was used to this, having followed Rainbow to pick flowers and occasionally following Light on one of their adventures.

She knew the paths well, where she could score mice, squirrels, and other more concerning animals she's brought to Sabre's doorstep(to the point of getting a cartoonish scream from the man upon awakening). For the most part her nature is to just laze around the forest, though. Not unlike Sabre, she is not much of a hunter, just very mischievous in her catching of these rodents and reptiles. Cheese scaled one of her favorite trees, taking a look around before lying in the nest of its split trunk. The sun gently warmed her fur as she basked in it, comfortably stretching and shifting to take a nap.

Not long into it, she woke to footsteps. After a moment to re-awake herself, she knew it was not Sabre, Rainbow, nor Light. Sabre's were empty of sound as he sneaked, the footing of a trickster. Rainbow was less so, but had a much softer and slow stride when it came to his forest walks, sometimes even drifting around with socratic pats and crunching of leaves. Light was similar to both, rather silent and wander-ous. These weren't hard steps but certainly not the kind worn by the three. Like how one would march into battle rather than his friends nibble careful walks.

She watched as they finally passed through where she now sat, watching their hair as they walked through the forest. It was Dark Steve, passing through to assumably attack or something of the sort. Even the villain, heartless as he seemed, stopped at the sight of the fluffy orange cat. He didn't recognize Cheese, as he smiled up at her. Dark put his hand forward, letting her sniff his knuckles. Cheese headbutted his hand, rubbing her face into his loose palm. The brooding attacker pet her, relaxing as he thought to himself he could take a minute to pet a random cat.

Unfortunately for him, Cheese liked the taste of blood more than getting pet and ear scratches— as well as her home not getting leveled but that was beside the point. Dark got a rather unfriendly bite to the palm, canines sinking into his pale flesh. He retracted his hand with a yell as Cheese climbed up the tree.
