Lakeside View {Part 1} ~🏳️

Authors note** Smut - Galaxy/ Rainbow. Originally was just gonna be some form of a lime(I guess? not very familiar with the term) but I ended up writing more, so enjoy some smut! Happy to finally get this abomination out of my draft, it's been haunting me, I don't even remember when I started it (apparently June)It looms over my shoulder as I start and finish new oneshots, leaving it to be buried under younger, newer drafts. As it is crushed, it cries in despair 'Why, creator, why have you abandoned me?'

Galaxy sat on the far edge of the dock, at his fishing spot, his legs dangling into the lake as he fished. He was focused for a while, catching quite a few fish, until he saw Rainbow down the coast. Rainbow stripped off his shirt, catching Galaxy's eye quickly before dipping into the water. He was quite a graceful swimmer, but Galaxy couldn't see most of it, as the water was murky and Rainbow swam far below the surface. It was nice to be able to just be at the lake though, instead of having to fight for their lives day in and day out.

Ever since Void was defeated, it felt like there was an eerie silence on the opposing side. Sabre wondered if Void was truly the last on the opposing side. Rainbow distracted him by making him help build the New Rainbow Town, a much more permanent shelter for them and other steves who were still lingering. So far the only residents were the three of them, though Time would stop by periodically, but ironically he could rarely spare the time.

They'd build it near this gorgeous lake, leaving it untouched beside the docks for their boats. Rainbow had once said it made him feel stronger, long after they started building, and that he hoped he would be able to regenerate his powers with its help. He would often swim there, and Galaxy often watched him from a distance when he was fishing.

This time was different from the rest. Rainbow caught him staring with the most dreamy gaze while catching a breath of air(which he only needed every half hour) and ducked to swim over. Galaxy tried to play it off but was freaking out on the inside as he refocused on the fishing rod in his hands. It didn't take long till Rainbow quietly re-emerged next to Galaxy, unseen the entire swim there. Galaxy pretended to focus on the rod in front of him as Rainbow spoke.

"What?" Rainbow asked, which he literally could have shouted from where he was before.

Galaxy played dumb. "Huh?"

"You've been staring at me swim for like, what, an hour now?" He questioned, pulling his arms up onto the dock.

Galaxy felt perverted for watching Rainbow like so, but he couldn't help but want to watch Rainbow, as graceful as he was. He barely made a motion in the water, not once did it affect his fishing. He barely rippled the water when he dipped in and seemed at peace, which was a foreign look for Galaxy to see on the steve. He was also half-naked.

Despite this, he said "I don't know what you're talking about, but you're scarin' my fish"

Rainbow rolled his eyes and dipped under. For a second he thought he was going back to swimming and had given up on the question but he came back up with a fish in hand. It was a small, red-purple betta fish, calmly swimming in the cupped water of Rainbow's hands.

"I'm the last steve that'll scare the fish, Gal." He said as he released the fish back into the water.

The betta rubbed against him in the water like a happy puppy before swimming away. Galaxy couldn't say he was all that surprised Rainbow was a fish whisperer, as most animals seemed to love him.

"If anything I'm drawing them in." Rainbow added, looking over at his bucket "You're releasing your catch, right?"

"Uh," Galaxy looked behind him at his pile "Should I?"
