Rory
"You didn't find her." I watch as Daryl and Rick come back up the trail, empty handed.
"Nah, we didn't." Daryl shakes his head.
"Why're y'all covered in blood?" They have blood all over the ends of their sleeves and pants.
"We gutted a walker, made sure that son of a bitch didn't go near her." I place a hand over my stomach. Something that I found myself doing a lot these days.
"Y'all better go talk to Carol. She's a freaking out." I point towards the RV, where Lori finally got her to go and lay down.
"I'll do it." Daryl walks away from us and I turn to Rick.
"Is now a bad time to say when I seen you fall down that hill I really wanted to laugh." I watch as his mouth drops.
"That's horrible. You are a horrible human being." He shakes his head.
"Well, if you don't look at why you were running down the hill, it's pretty funny. But when you look at the full picture, it's bad." I defend myself. I let myself laugh and he does too.
"I told Carl." I spoke after a few seconds of silence.
"Really? How'd he take it?"
"He was excited, happy. He's been wanting a protective role and these babies are the perfect excuse." I tell him.
"It's been hard. Since I got shot. I haven't been around for long, since all this started. But when I got back I could tell, he was changing. Growing up." I nod in agreement, we begin to walk to the vehicles. While Daryl and Rick were out, we worked on moving the car pileup out of our way.
"Well, its gotta happen. Sad it has to happen in this kind of world."
"Right, I got something for you." Rick walks ahead of me, going to the car. He comes back with a black box.
"Rick, it's kind weird to be proposing to your sister." He shakes his head and laughs.
"Just open it." I open the box, being met with a small necklace, a butterfly hanging from it.
"Happy birthday!" What? Birthday? What day is it? What month is it?
"What day is it?"
"July 8th, your birthday." Holy shit. It is my birthday.
"I forget my own birthday." I press my lips into a straight line. "God, that's sad." I snicker.
"You've been busy, lost track of the days." He shrugs.
"Put it on me." I hand him the box before turning around and lifting my hair up. I feel him drape it around my neck before clasping it.
"You looking for her tomorrow?"
"Yeah."
"Good, I'm going with." I smile to him.
"No-"
"Yes I am, I'm perfectly fine to go out there with you. I have my knives, my bow and arrow. Plus I'll be with you."
"Fine." He rolls his eyes.
"I wasn't asking, I was telling." I shrug before I start to back away. "I'm 17 now, 365 more days and I'm legal baby and you can't stop me from doing anything." I turn on my heel and walk away from him.

"I wanna go, she's my friend." Carl crosses his arms over his chest. I look at rick with warily eyes.
"I think he'll be ok to go, he has Lori, me and you to watch him." I shrug. I had my knives on my thigh, my bow to my side, and my quiver on my back.
"Alright, you can come. Just listen to me, mom and Rory. You got it." Carl nods and we all start to make our way through the woods.
We all stopped as we heard church bells ringing. We all followed the sound, the best we could. But when we got to the church, they're was no steeple.
"Rick, man I'm telling you. This ain't it." Shane says, just then the 'bell' rings again. I run, well try to run, to the side of the building, seeing a speaker.
Glenn opens the box before ripping the wires out. I sigh and sit on the steps of the church.
"You guys head back, me and Shane are gonna continue the search." Rick speaks up from the doors.
"I wanna go with." Carl says. "Please, I'll be safe." Carl looks between his parents. Lori sighs and looks at Rick, they seem to be having a conversation with their eyes.
"You can go," she sighs. "When did you start growing up." She plants a kiss on his head.
"I'm going too." I speaks up, both Shane and Rick start to protest but I stop them. "I'm old enough to make my own decisions, I have to start doing it at some point." I look at them. "Plus, again I wasn't asking, I was telling."
"Can't argue with that." Rick shrugs and Shane sighs, he obviously doesn't agree. But he's not my guardian.
"Head back, we'll be back later." We all walks off.
"Carry me." I look over to Rick with a pout. I really wanted a piggy back ride.
"Fine." He sighs and I go over and jump on his back. "Jesus, what have you been eating." I make a "hmph" sound before lightly slapping his mouth.
"If dad heard you talk like that he would beat you." I begin to pull at his face, like I would when I was a child.
"How come you got all the good genes? Like I got nothing from dad." I smile when he swats my hand away.
"You got the blue eyes, dark hair, hight. I got nothing." I pout.
"No, having twins comes from dads side." He smirks and I roll my eyes.
"Yeah, what a great thing to have." I roll my eyes. We all stop when we hear a snap. I hop off of Ricks back and pull a knife from my holster.
I let out a gasp as a deer steps out into the light. Carl took a couple of steps forward, the deer snapped his head up to Carl but he didn't budge.
I didn't even hear the gunshot go off. But I watched as the Carl, and the deer fell to the ground.
