11: [PUNISHMENT]

LISA'S POV

"Did she like the flowers I sent?" I murmured to myself, lost in thought.

A sharp nudge to my arm pulled me back to reality.

"You're spacing out again," my coworker sighed. "There are a lot of customers waiting."

I blinked, refocusing on the counter.

"Welcome! What's your order, ma’am?" I greeted with a polite smile.

After taking the order, I turned to assign her a table.

This wasn’t exactly how I imagined my day going.

I was currently working as a barista in Baby Chipmunk’s newly opened coffee shop, because apparently, falling in love required punishment.

FLASHBACK:

I entered my apartment, a happy smile plastered on my face.

That happiness immediately vanished when I saw my four friends waiting in my tiny living room.

Three of them were glaring. The other one? Grinning like a devil.

"Explain!" They demanded in unison.

Before I could run for my life, Jeongyeon, Seulgi, and Rosé dragged me to the couch, forcing me to sit.

"H-Hi," I greeted nervously.

"Don't 'hi' us, monkey!" Seulgi scolded. "You were out of the country for a week on a business trip, and the next thing we hear? You went on a date with a woman?!"

"Without telling us!" Jeongyeon added, arms crossed.

Rosé nodded dramatically. Meanwhile, the traitor, Cubby, was munching on popcorn like this was some kind of prime-time drama.

She should be helping me!

"I'm sorry," I murmured, lowering my head. "I was going to tell you guys, but… I was just so excited to see Jennie. I wanted to wait until she agreed to let me court her."

Silence.

"You mean Jennie Ruby Jane Kim?!" Jeongyeon nearly shouted.

Cubby and I nodded.

"You know her?" I asked, confused.

Jeongyeon scoffed. "Are you serious? She’s the CEO of RJK Corporation, one of the biggest companies in Korea!"

That explains why people were staring at her when we entered the VVIP room.

Seulgi nudged me, smirking. "You really hit the jackpot, huh?"

"Don't change the topic, Bear!" Cubby scolded.

I sighed, surrendering to their interrogation. I gave them a rundown of everything, from meeting Jennie’s family to the dinner date. But of course, they interrupted me a million times with teasing remarks.

By the time I finished, they were nodding knowingly, eyebrows wiggling.

"For your punishment," Jeongyeon suddenly said, stroking her chin in thought.

"Punishment? I thought you guys were okay with it!" I panicked.

"Do you have an idea, Bear?" Jeongyeon turned to Seulgi.

Seulgi shrugged. "Nothing comes to mind."

"I have one."
