JENNIE'S POV

"Hi!"

The moment the familiar voice reached my ears, I felt my entire world come to a halt.

There she was... Lisa.

Standing in my office like a vision, holding a bouquet of flowers in her right hand, looking effortlessly hot in a pair of eyeglasses that only added to her mysterious charm.

I must have been staring too hard because she tilted her head slightly, amused.

"Uhmm… do you still remember me?"

Her question snapped me out of my trance.

Remember you? Are you kidding me?! You’ve been invading my thoughts every single day since that dinner.

But of course, saying that out loud would be humiliating.

Before I could even compose a response, Jisoo stepped in smoothly.

"Hi, Lisa. Nice to meet you again."

I internally groaned at how casual she sounded. Meanwhile, I was still trying to process the fact that Lisa was right in front of me.

Irene and Nayeon wasted no time, standing up and approaching her with intrigue.

"So, you must be The Lalisa of Jennie?" Irene teased, extending a hand.

Lisa blinked at her in mild confusion but took her hand anyway.

"Yes. I’m Lalisa, but you can just call me Lisa," she replied with that killer smile.

Their handshake lasted just a little too long for my liking.

Before Nayeon could introduce herself, I cleared my throat—loudly.

Lisa turned to me immediately, excusing herself from them.

"Hi, Jennie," she greeted, stepping closer.

I swear my heartbeat doubled at her proximity.

Then she handed me the flowers.

"For you," she said, smiling.

I felt my cheeks heat up instantly.

"Thank you," I muttered, burying my face into the flowers to hide my blush. I cleared my throat again, willing myself to act normal. "Lisa, this is Irene Bae and Im Nayeon," I gestured toward the two troublemakers.

"Nice to meet you guys," Lisa greeted politely, then turned to Jisoo. "Nice to meet you again, Ms. Jisoo."

"Just Jisoo, sister-in-law," Jisoo winked, making Lisa blush.

I smirked.

Lisa quickly composed herself, but I saw that blush.

I decided to save her before Jisoo could torment her further.

"So… why are you here, Lisa?" I asked, trying to sound casual even though my excitement was threatening to explode.

Lisa’s lips curled into a teasing smile.

"Are you here for the payment?" I asked, feeling a tiny pang of disappointment.

Her smile widened at my question.

Oh. She’s not here for me…?

"Yup," she answered simply.

I gripped the flowers tighter, suddenly feeling annoyed.
