JENNIE'S POV

I woke up earlier than usual, my body feeling lighter than ever. Maybe it was because I had one of the best nights of my life.

As I went about my morning routine, a soft hum escaped my lips-something I rarely did. But who could blame me? Lisa Manoban asked me out on a date.

And not just any date-she planned it, prepared for it, and made me feel like the most special person in the world.

Yeah, I think I like her already.

I sighed, shaking my head with a small smile. My friends always teased me about how I claimed I didn't need anyone, but deep down, maybe I did. Maybe I just never wanted to admit it-until last night.

I walked into the dining room for breakfast, even though I wasn't much of a morning eater. But skipping breakfast in this house? Not an option.

"If anyone dares to skip breakfast, I will disown them!" my mom always declared dramatically.

I could never tell if she was serious, but I loved her anyway.

"Just sit down, Ruby Jane. The food will be ready in a minute," my mom said, noticing me hovering in the kitchen.

"Yes, Mom," I replied, taking my usual seat at the dining table.

A moment later, the maids placed the food on the table, and my father and older brother, Jin, entered the room.

Before I could even pick up my spoon-

"Master Jennie," our butler, James, called.

I didn't look up. "Go on."

"A delivery arrived for you this morning."

I turned just in time to see him holding a bouquet of pink flowers.

My heart skipped a beat.

Lisa.

I reached for them, but before my fingers could even brush the petals-

"Oh my goodness, it's so beautiful!" my mom gushed, snatching the bouquet before I could even react.

I blinked. Did she just-

James gave me a knowing look before discreetly leaving.

"Mom!" I whined, watching as she examined the flowers like they were hers.

"Tell me, Ruby Jane," she began, her eyes gleaming with excitement, "are these from Lisa?"

I sighed, nodding. I reached for the bouquet, only for my mother to turn her back on me and face my father instead.

"See, Woobin? Our daughter-in-law is so sweet," she declared.

My father, as composed as always, simply nodded.

I blushed. Daughter-in-law?

"Oh, there's a letter!" my mom exclaimed, her fingers moving to open it.

"MOM!" I shouted, making everyone jump.

I snatched the flowers and letter from her grip, hugging them close to my chest.

"It was delivered for me, not you, Mom," I huffed.

She pouted. "You're right, you're right," she laughed, taking her seat.

"Let's eat," my father finally announced, breaking the moment.

"Thank you for the food," we all said in unison before digging in.
