He who she loves

Chapter 7

"Your report card?" Dad asked while we're in the middle of our breakfast. 

After what happened that day he didn't talk to me. Ngayon lang ulit and he's acting like nothing happened. I'm used to it.

Kinuha ko ang report card sa aking bag at ibinigay kay daddy.

"What is this? 1.75?" 

I looked down. This is so suffocating. 

"Aren't you proud of her dad? She did well" 

"Stop defending her, Leon. Kaya tumitigas ang ulo niya dahil sayo" 

"Alejandro" Hinawakan ko ang kamay ni mommy na nasa itaas ng mesa. Ayoko na mag away sila dahil saakin. 

"Leon is right, she did her best and that's enough dad. Stop pressuring Brielle" Kuya creed blurted out.

My kuya's defending me like this. I'm really happy. 

"I'll do my best next time, dad. I'll aim for the highest grade" I said.

"It's okay, Brielle." Kuya Leon held my hand. 

"I'm proud of you" I smiled.

No matter how much of my world is crumbling, I always keep a straight face in the hopes that no one will see through my face and ask the one question that I know will crush me.

"I'll drop you off" Hindi naka damit pang trabaho si Kuya Hezekiah ngayon. Maaga pa, mamaya pang 12 pm ang pasok ko. Gusto ko lang umalis ng maaga sa bahay dahil nandyan si dad.  

"Wala po kayong pasok?"

Umiling ito at binuksan ang kanyang sasakyan. "Let's go"

"I saw your registration card. Mamayang 12PM pa ang pasok mo"

Nanlaki ang aking mga mata. 

"Don't be scared. Hindi ako magsusumbong" he replied.

I felt relieved. They really knew everything about me. Buti pa sila. Alam nila kung ano ang gusto ko din gawin. Ano ang pangarap ko. Dad already planned my future. All I need to do is to take the path na ginawa niya for me. 

"Was it suffocating?"

I smiled. "I would be lying if I answered no"

"It was like that when we're still children. Everything that we do, was monitored by him. Every single thing." 

Maybe kuya leon was right. That's how our dad shows how much he loves us. So suffocating.

"Just do your best. We got you"

"Let's eat something before I drop you off"

Kuya hezekiah brought a lot of burgers and fries. Nag drive thru lang kami dahil sobrang daming tao sa loob ng fast food chain.

"Is that enough?"

I smiled and nod my head. "Sobrang dami na nga po neto kuya."

"You need to eat a lot para malakas ka kapag inaaway ka ni Creed" 

I don't know if it's a joke or what but I chuckled. 

Since I was still a child I thought they hate me, ngayon ko lang na realize na they love and treat me like a real sister. Not a half blood. Siguro hindi lang talaga showy dahil lahat sila ay mga lalaki.

"Thank you, kuya hezekiah. Ingat po kayo pauwi" I closed the door, then he opened the window.

"I transferred some money to your bank account. Buy yourself a lot of dresses, bags of whatever you like. Okay?"
