Chapter 30

Pagdating ko sa office may flowers sa table ko. A bouquet of yellow tulips inserted with a card there's sunshine in your smile.

It's from Alexander.

"Wow. Someone gave my little sister a flower"

I chuckled. When I was in the US two guys courted me and they always sent flowers in our house even though I rejected them.

"Is that the guy from your blind date?" 

I nod my head. "When you got hurt that time he was so devastated. Palagi syang bumabalik sa hospital to check if you're doing fine"

"Bagay naman kayo and I'm rooting for both of you"

I just smiled softly. I'm not getting younger and I need to settle down sooner or later.

"Good morning Mr. Jadelania" Lumingon ako sa may pintuan at nakita si Liam. Napunta sa gawi ko ang tingin niya ngunit nagiwas ako ng tingin.

"Where's Leon?" He asked.

Nag busy-busyhan lang ako sa papel na nasa mesa ko. Kahit wala naman akong inaayos.

"Ms. Mondragon" 

"Yes sir?" 

He stared at me for almost 10 seconds. "I was asking you a while ago but you're not answering me"

So ako nga talaga ang tinanong niya kanina. 

"I'm sorry." I bow my head down.

"Mr. Jadelania" sakto naman ang pag pagpasok ni Kuya Leon. Parang gusto ko na talagang lumipat, dahil lagi na lang nandito si Liam. Napapagod na din ako sa tuwing nakikita ko siya.

"There's an emergency meeting in Batanes. Mr. Valencia will come" Liam said.

I don't intend to eavesdrop on what they are saying but they are inside the office so I have no choice.

"Really? I have some important meetings later" Kuya Leon answered.

"Can I send someone with you?"

Liam blankly looked at me. "She can come with me. She's your secretary by the way"

Gusto kong sumigaw ng ayoko. Dahil ayoko talaga na sumama kay Liam. Una sa lahat wala akong alam sa meeting na pupuntahan namin at secretary lang ako ni Kuya Leon. I'm just organizing the materials he needs. 

"Okay. Brielle, come with Mr. Jadelania for a while and take note every important details in the meeting"

I can't say no to him so I nod my head. I'm stuck with Liam again. 

"Have you eaten? Malayo layo ang byahe" he said.

I looked outside and took a sigh. I promise Alexander we'll eat lunch together, but here I am.

"I'm okay," I answered.

"Here's the materials, take your time to read"

Hay. I don't even understand this project. Bakit kailangan ako pa ang sumama. Argh. 

"Okay" bagot kong sagot.

Kakabukas ko lang ng first page, inaantok na agad ako. Anong oras na din ako natulog kagabi dahil may tinapos akong powerpoint presentation na pinapagawa ni Kuya Creed.

"Wag mo naman ipahalata na ayaw mo akong kasama" He whisper, dahil sa sinabi niya ay napalingon ako sa kanya.

"It's not what you think," I said.

He smiled, pero hindi iyon umabot sa kanyang mga mata.

"I know, I understand." 

I just really don't want any misunderstanding between Ciella and me. If she heard that I'm with Liam right now, she'll get mad at me.
