Chapter 15

"Don't you dare lie in front of my face, Brielle Taleigha Mondragon"

How can I lie? When she's glaring at me like this. Hindi din ako sanay na nag sisinungaling kay Ansella.

"Is that you? Yung ka blind date ni Alexander?"

I nod my head.

"OMG! Are you serious?" Inalog alog pa niya ako. 

"Stop it, Ansella"

"OMG OMG! What happened?"

Tumayo ako at kinuha ang gamit ko. "I'll tell you everything later. May pasok pa ako"

After I walked out earlier, doon ko lang na realize what I did. Liam will probably beat me. It was his fault. How dare he call me a bitch.

Nakahinga ako ng maluwag dahil marami ng tao sa room. Hindi na niya ako kakausapin.

"Who wants to go to the library to photocopy this paper?"

Nagulat ako dahil biglang nagtaas ng kamay si Liam "Si Ms. Mondragon daw po"

What the hell? Sa kabilang building pa ng photocopy machine. 

"Okay. Accompany her Mr. Jadelania. Hindi niya mabubuhat mag isa"

I want to laugh and stick my tongue out in front of him.  Mabilis talaga ang karma.

"Okay sir" Labag sa loob na sagot nito.

Tumayo ako at kinuha ang papel na hawak ni Mr. Alfonso. 

"Make 40 copies each" 

Unang lumabas si Liam kaya sumunod na lang ako sa kanya. 

"Mabilis talaga ang karma eh ano?" Natatawang sambit ko.

He glared at me. "Shut up" 

Sumama pa si Liam dito hindi naman nya ako tinulungan. 5 pages lang naman yung pinapa photocopy ni Mr. Alfonso, but I need 40 copies each. Sigurado ay ipapa staple pa din niya ito. 

Liam leaned his head on the table and he closed his eyes. That's the favorite thing he always does. 

Napa iling na lamang ako. 

"Shit" I whisper. I got a paper cut and it's really painful. 

"Tsk" Liam grabbed my hand, kinuha niya niya ang panyo sa bulsa niya at nilagay sa kamay ko.

"You like collecting my handkerchief don't you?" 

I looked away. "I'll give it back to you, don't worry"

Right. I forgot, na sa akin pa din yung isa and he's asking me to give it back to him. 

"Sit down"

Tinapos na ni Liam ang mga natira at siya na din ang nag staple ng mga to. 

"It's done. Let's go"

Kahit medyo mabigat, siya na din na humawak.

Habang naglalakad ay pinagmamasdan ko lang ang kanyang likuran. I got really annoyed when he called me bitch, I was planning not to talk to him today, but things happened.

"Do you like staring at my back?"

I rolled my eyes. He's so full of himself, but I kinda like it. 

"How's my honeysuckle?"

"It's growing nicely, '' I answered. I'm gonna treasure that flower because it was from Liam.

My first ever flower from a guy and it has a hidden meaning. I know I'm being ahead of myself. 

"That's nice."

"I'll be looking forward to your essays tomorrow."

Minsan mas marami pang requirements ang mga minor subjects. Though okay lang naman sa akin dahil halos puro assignments at activity lang naman. 

"And by the way before I dismissed you, I would like to congratulate Mr. Jadelania for acing the exam last time and Ms. Mondragon, you did well, too. You guys did a great job. Everyone of you. The class ranking is now paste in the bulletin board outside, check it out"

Did I ever tell you? I was always next to Liam. He always got first place and I was second. 

"Congrats Sebastian! Malamang first ka na naman!" Sigaw ng isa sa mga kaklase namin.

"You did well, Mondragon" said by one of our classmates.

I smiled, it's really okay for me, whatever rank I got. I did my best and that's enough.

Really, Brielle? 

I took a deep breath at pumunta sa bulletin board, everyone was looking for their Rank.

In this university, students are ranked 1 to 100 per department. If you got lucky and were placed into that rank. You'll get a discount on your tuition fee and a gift. 

I don't really care about the gift. The validation of my dad is all that matters.

Mondragon, Brielle Taleigha C.

I was ranked second again, for the 7th time.

"Do you really think magiging first kana? Because you go around with Liam now? Dream on girl" Kayleigh said out of the blue. She's picking a fight again. She never learned. 

"You will forever stay as the second," She added.

"Hahaha right. She really think ka level na niya si Liam"

I smirked "Buti nga second. Kayo? Your name wasn't even written on the bulletin board. Stop picking a fight, you go study girl."

"Woah. That was a nice punch line, Mondragon" 

I'm not really in the mood to joke around, so I didn't mind what he said. Nilagpsan ko lang sila.

"Hey"

He grabbed my hand. "Want to grab a meal?"

Inalis ko ang pagkakahawak niya sa kamay ko. I really want to take a rest right now.

"I'm really tired, Liam"

"Are you disappointed?" I don't know if he's provoking me or what, but I don't really like the way he said it

"Not now, Liam"

"That's why you should have told them na I helped Laura, then you'll be able to ranked first"

I sarcastically laugh. "I'm not that low, Liam"

I know he's really intelligent and he deserves the first place. I don't have any grudge against that. What irritates me now, is that everyone was thinking na kaya lang naman namin pinakikisamahan sila Liam because of the grades and that's bullshit. 

Maybe they even think he's helping me out. People really love spreading rumors, you see. 

"You did well, Mondragon. What others think about you, is not important. Be proud of your achievements and progress. No matter how little it may seem to others, be proud of it."

He stopped talking and held my hand. "And if no one is proud of you, then I will."
