PRESENT TIME
Miguel's Pov.
It's Saturday today, so I don't have work at the office. It's funny how quickly the days pass by. Seven days have already gone by since the dinner between the Devilla family and mine.
In that one week, Liam's performance at the company improved even more, and I've started to get the hang of things. Even the ins and outs of the buildings are now etched in my mind.
"Kuya?"
"Sam."
"It's been a week, but I'm still confused about what they talked about at the table. Why do I feel like the mood of the Devilla family changed? I'm so confused."
I sighed and watched Samantha, who had a puzzled expression.
"That's no longer our problem. It's out of our hands, Sam."
"You sound like Mom, huh!" She quickly responded and gave me a glare.
"I swear, I could poke your eyes out."
"You know, Sam, I've changed so much."
"Oh really? Doesn't seem like it."
"Sam."
"Kuya, I don't understand why you keep saying that. It's obvious that you've really changed."
I fell silent and stared off into the distance.
"Is it possible that I'm a different person now? That I'm not the Miguel I was before the accident?"
"Well, how would I know? You're probably losing your mind." She stood up from her seat, dug into her pocket, and stared at me. "Here, take a peso. Go buy yourself someone to talk to!"
"Tch!"
Such a brilliant conversation partner!!

Liam's Pov.
"Where do you wanna go?" I asked the woman in front of me, kissing her forehead and smiling sweetly. "Good morning, babe!"
"Morning." She replied briefly, clearly just waking up. "I just wanna relax. My school is really getting harder than before. Being in college is so tough, Liam," she said as she sat up in bed.
Here I am now, at Stacey's house. I don't know why, but there's something different about the woman in front of me. I love her, that's the truth. But every time I think about Monique, the pain I feel is indescribable. It feels like all the tears in the world pour out of my eyes whenever we talk about Monique.
"How's your position, by the way?" Stacey asked.
"I'm slowly getting familiar with the business management of it, thanks to Miguel. That guy is really good," I replied.
"That's good to know."
I watched as she headed to the comfort room of her condo unit.
I actually salute this girl of mine for being independent. She decided to move to her own condo to have a change of pace. She still has her complete parents, but they're physically absent since they're both business-minded. So, she chose to live alone in her condo unit.
I stood up from where I was sitting and looked out the window. All I could see were tall buildings and cars below the building.
"By the way, how was your dinner with the Thomson family? I forgot to ask you because I've been so busy with school work. Sorry."
