Ch - 12 : The Crossroads III

Both Sasuke and Naruto had their own shares of pain and loneliness. Naruto always called loser by everyone around him while Sasuke was a called loser by his inner voice inside him saying that he can never expect to match Itachi. Sasuke craved for power while Naruto craved for attention. Then they both found each other. Both were dependent upon each other while both were jealous of each other as well. The reincarnation of Indra and Asura were brothers by bond. Their bond that far exceeded blood relation. Sasuke was slowly getting jealous of Naruto while Naruto was slowly getting to know Sasuke. And now Naruto jumped. Time as if restarted, he joined after Sasuke.

He wanted to get acknowledged by him. And they both will stand side by side to protect their teammates. As comrades and as brothers.

The fight was on.

Now,

Both Naruto and Sasuke stood side by side glaring kunais, shurikens, daggers, and every possible weapons through their eyes at the kidnappers. Both Sasuke and Naruto standing side by side, reincarnation of Indra and Asura working together.

For some reason, the guy in the middle felt a chill in his spine. Why did he feel cold? He then looked at his hand. Was it wet? No. He doesn't sweat. He never sweats. While Naruto and Sasuke standing side by side felt that they could take on the world. Both of them, unknowingly and subconsciously were releasing chakra which was forming resonance with each other.

From what seemed like the moment they met, Naruto and Sasuke always had a certain connection that extended beyond friendship. There were times that they could peer into one another's minds and see the other's innermost thoughts and feelings. Even now, they seemed to arrive at a mutual understanding without exchanging many words.

For some reasons unknown, the chakra of Indra and Asura were awakening far sooner than expected.

"I definitely agree with the latter." Sasuke said to the kidnapper. What was that kidnapper saying again? Naruto forgot.

You're either too confident in your abilities or too stupid to know your limits.

You know everything about the damn teamwork and Sasuke being a big softie or a tsundere went out of the window with a fried ass. This guy was only an asshole.

"Shut up." Naruto told him pouting. And anger mixed as well.

"Thanks to you we lost the element of surprise." Sasuke said to Naruto in his most common deadpan expression. And Naruto had a big sweardrop behind his head due to his mistake.

I'm definitely at fault. Naruto sighed to himself.

"You see?" The voice of the non-mask jerk interrupted his thought. "I told you they would follow us."

"Leave this to us, Kajika-sama." At least they got the name of the fat guy. The apparent leader of this group Kajika. The one who kidnapped Sakura-chan.

"Certainly." He said as he flew away like a blur jumping from trees to trees.

"Wait a minute. Return Sakura-chan." As if that ever works. Older Naruto thought facepalming. And the guy Kajika didn't even pay heed to it, as he just increased his pace jumping from branch to branch.

The girl of the group spoke up. Her voice cocky and confident. "She's least of your worries." And suddenly like a rainbow haze, they mixed into the air. They just vanished.

"They just disappeared?!" Naruto exclaimed. But he could sense them.

"No!" Sasuke's voice cut in like a hot knife through a butter during the tense situation going on. "They are still around." And it looks like he misunderstood Naruto as well. Because according to him, Naruto thinks that enemies are no longer around whereas Naruto was thinking about their jutsu.
